seconded. i have to admit i've been spoiled by Proto's design and this one looks a bit fat to me.. here's hoping there'll be a proto version soon, and that it's not some exclusive that being said though, i'd still gladly pick this guy up, he still looks great
Finally! The HG lines are only getting better and better! I thought the Proto was going to do it for me but seeing this in its TV version is AWESOME! Keep them coming Bandai!
You can always customize the old NG 1/144 kit if you want...
I'm actually more worried about the fact its holding its shield as opposed to it being mounted. Its iconic dual wielding poses have the shield mounted on the arm...
Eh, its trivial compared to the fact that WE'RE GETTING IT IN PROPER HG! :D
Yeah that handheld shield will be a problem in posing the the rolling TBR (wit shield attached).
But I do expect the following:
1. Working shoulder gatling guns (since HG G Gundam missed out the machine cannons) 2. Hatch for beam saber can be opened 3. Hardpoint in arms for shield (so we can pose the rolling TBR 4. Working piledriver shield
Also looks like the shield may be hand carried only, look at the size...unless someone can think of a work around other than a massive ugly plastic handle that extends it far away from the body just to mount to the arm?
I think there's no issue with the proportion here. Anyway, if you're going to take a moment and compare it with the actual design in the anime, they're completely the same, the proportions and all that. Good job with the twin buster rifle though because Bandai made it longer as compared with the anime. So being "fat" is not a problem. Being anime-accurate is not bad at all..the thing is, why Bandai could not release it in a 1/100 form MG and went through the efforts on re-designing it to create Proto Zero. Do they prioritize manga over the actual anime series? Don't tell me that once they start another trend of Gundam Wing (due to the upcoming release of BluRay edition) they're just just to start milking out of it and release another Wing Zero kit being this time having the original design..oh well...

I take issue with the shoulders. They seem way too big which makes the head look tiny and the torso...dwarfish. The wings look long enough which is a plus. Those huge shoulders ruin the image of Zero for me on this kit. And I love triangular shoulders, too. Tsk.
I get what you are trying to say, but the proportions on this are completely accurate to the original artwork and the anime. I can't really fault them for that. Also this is one of my favorite Gundams overall as it is. Though I do like the Proto Zero's design as well as EW Zero's design. There was a time when I wasn't to crazy about EW Zero's design due to seeing it %#$@ing everywhere, but it has grown on me ever since I purchased the Robot Damashii of it. I like all designs of Wing Zero, but this one still holds the most nostalgic value to it in my opinion. Also I love that Bandai is finally giving us this pure TV Wing Zero. I love how it looks. Even if it can't do the rolling Buster or other iconic poses, I have the Robot Damashii of the TV Zero as well.
I was considering getting this, then I saw the backs of wings. I've been noticing a decrease in quality in many of the HGs released in the past couple years, but this is on a whole new level. Seriously, couldn't Bandai have found a way to hide those hinges on the inside the shell instead of settling on this huge eyesore?
I think Wing Zero's always had those in its design, and that would seem to be their purpose, but on this HG (and most other WZ TV kits, but they are all from the forearm peg infested 90's), they look to be a purely aesthetic detail, and are incapable of holding anything.
Finally, the prayers of AC fans have been answered! Will get this first before the HGCC Turn A; too damn irresistible...
