i think it's supposed to simulate the sheen that the white parts on the Star Build Strike gets when it activates the RG system. i think the pearl white simulates it best, rather than a metallic coat or gloss color.
It's a Gentei kit, and like many other that come in clear color (or clear colorless), metallic finish, glitter etc, etc, etc it doesn't have to make sense at all or show a scene/suit/variation/effect from the anime. It's just made to look different and that's about it. Anime version doesn't have clear red parts or pearl white color. On a side note, I've seen people buying these and then painting them whatever color they want, just for the fuck of it. Though it's everyone's right to do with their own kits what they like it kind of misses the point of owning a Gentei kit as a whole. I've bought this and even as a serious painter and model kit builder I'm not even thinking about going past the detail painting on this one. The rest of the kit will stay mostly untouched.
No, it does make sense and does show a scene/suit/variation/effect from the anime. The Star Build Strike is from Gundam Build Fighters, and in the Anime, it uses something called RG Mode which makes the Gunpla look like this. Have you watched GBF? If you're a Gundam fan, I highly recommend it.
wow this looks awful
ReplyDeleteI like the glitter on the Plavsky gates and wings but why is the kit pearly white?

DeleteI, on the other hand, think this looks great. It's the 'most' faithful variation of the kit for the anime effect while RG system is actiavated.
