The animation is reused for different suits, and the writing for this show is simply horrible. No wonder why they weren't allowed to do anything else Gundam again.
seed is also considered the worst series because of this.
Don't like Seed Destiny. But I have to admit Strike Freedom got one of the best debut in Gundam history... -_- Well, Seed Destiny is all about fan service after all...
The ootori was so badass, gunning suits down with its head Vulcans. But such a shame that it had to be destroyed so easily, all because of the original storyline.
I was completely surprised to see the Ootori kick some ass. I was thinking "Gee maybe the Strike will SURVIVE for once!" and then "Who the hell needs the Strike Freedom when you can just use a soon to be 3 year old Gundam with a fancy new back pack!" And then when it did get finally offed I felt like they did more just to get him into the Strike Freedom. You didn't have to blow up the Strike if it wasn't necessary...you could've just landed it in the hanger with all it's limbs and no one would've cared...oh well at least it got it's brief moment of glory.
On a worse note though. Since Kira DID actually do some ass kicking it did make the Strike Freedom's need a little...ummm...unnecessary. At least in the original show I could sense that the Strike was an outdated machine and seeing it blow up so easily did make sense and did make the Strike Freedom's need very apparent. But as I said before when the Ootori was actually doing something. "Who the hell needs the Strike Freedom when you can just use a soon to be 3 year old Gundam with a fancy new back pack!"
"Where is it?" Yes where is the new machine that will sell millions of model kits, piss off a lot of hardcore UC fanboys/other fanboys, and to lesser extent piss me off for ruining the original Freedom...that's the REAL reason why he's here Lacus...not for you. What no Vestige? Well you just made that scene 3 times worser...and actually...compared to the Strike Ootori...I was more impressed with the Strike's fight...maybe it's because I don't like the Strike Freedom that much or maybe it's I've seen the Strike Freedom's launch before and the Ootori fighting is new...I don't know...
@ james - Your thoughts about the way the seed destiny changed its plot a bit is totally amazing. And your right about the thing you said about Strike Freedom. With the original story, the sense of necessity for greater power was there. But with the use of Ootori pack, I think that was enough to stop those who opposes it. But still, mounting it to a 3-yr old gundam is not good enough to stop that impending doom because of Durrandal's "Destiny Plan". Strike has a very limited energy and using Ootori will definetly deplete its juice and wont be able to catch up with higher-end mobile suits. SF, like Freedom, has its infinite resource of energy and can withstand longer battles. Besides, Kira must have been used to the Freedom's controls and style of fighting, hence, the need for a newer version of Freedom.
But fighting as badass as Kira did using the Ootori had a purpose. In my opinion, they wanted to make an impression to us viewers that Ootori is not just for show, but it really does what it was built for. I haven't watched prior episodes but I think Kira was able to use the Ootori and put it into really, really good use compared to his twin sister. The destructive power is there, yes, but again, energy is completely limited.
id rather watch age at this point
ReplyDeleteGo then. You think we care?
DeleteThen go watch that
Deletei like the part when Strike Fight lol from using missile until rammed to Ootori pack to block Beam Launcher shoot lol

ReplyDeleteI feel you, bro.
I blame super robot taisen for that BGM during strike freedom's action...
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing build fighters, the Strike Gundam is way cooler than any of its lame successors. Pheonix showed more action in entire Seed series.
ReplyDeleteawh cmon.... nothing beat the shit out of 00 series out there thats the best gundam series ever
