The most laziest Astray Frame design ever. Seriously creativity department? Hey, let's take a Red Frame, paint it black and put a Noir striker on the back. -___-;
TBH, there's only so much you can do to an Astray such that it still looks like an Astray when you're done with it. But yeah, a new backpack would've been nice.
And that sword/pistol thing is not my cup of tea. I mean sword/gun combinations are ok, just not this one where the sword is connected by holster to the gun instead of an actual integrated weapon
I hope/wonder if it'll come with the parts to make the full katanas/holsters like how the red frame kai came with parts to make the blue frame tactical arms instead of tactical arms/L.
Hmm 5250 yen, I'll getting this next year, looks good. I love astray & noir backpack, and I love black. :) The only thing strange from this one is the direction of gun when holstered, did he want to shoot himself up ?
Lazy design. Is Bandai milking the Astray design just like the Strike? On to the model itself, they should have done better by the Strike Noir. The pistol and katana combo? Really? Hopefully that black attachment point can rotate because that is a glaringly obvious bad design. I do like the katana but maybe they could have been wakazashi or the actual ninja swords themselves to go along with the black ops theme the Noir has going for it. I'm liking that metal element they threw in there. Possibly a re-designed backpack to carry on that theme. Sort of like S.Freedom's wings but blades... Also, I would have liked to see the Noir shoulder in this design as well. Other than that, I think there's a bit too much black. Fairly priced.
The pistol/sword combo weapon has been around for centuries, just not really in the forefront of modern arms. I was quite surprised myself when I looked it up. Here check it out.
Yes it has, I know about it since Final Fantasy VIII. But the design of this Noir (and in real life) is vastly....impractical. If you look at the pics from Wiki, it is quitle clear that the blade has to be attached properly and as less off-balance as possible. The design of this guy make the blade seem like it will not be very secured and way too off-balance.
Haha yeah I knew you'd say that. Look up the "Nambu Pistol Sword" in google images. I think they were following the concept of that weapon. As improbable as it looks they actually made and used those in WW2. This version though, having the gun to the side instead of actually part of the hilt is a little more imbalanced. Following in spirit but not in practicality perhaps.

ReplyDeleteWhy do you think this is an exclusive. Because less people will be interested in it. quit whining.
DeleteI'm just upset about the sword/beam pistols on the waist, that's the real lazy design if you ask me
Delete"Hey, let's glue swords to the pistol"
Delete"Good idea!!!"
How would you build an Astray variant then? I think it's quiet creative.

DeleteI'm with you on that one anon 4:05
DeleteAlthough the idea of putting the noir pistols with the red frames blades does seem kind of lazy

For fucks sake.. aren't there enough exclusives, Bandai? Instead of releasing 20 different colored zakus, put these exclusive sets for all to buy.
ReplyDeletemaybe there's a story behind why katana blade pistols combo are born?? anyone??
ReplyDeleteI spy NG hands, but that makes sense, since those hands were probably lifted from the strike noir.

ReplyDeleteReally hoping with all this Astray love, bandai releases a Gold Frame Amatsu Mina Custom or something...
