  7. Why so serious? ^_^ I await the episode where this guy fights Bear San. The point of customization is you can do whatever you want. And with this series, logic is no longer a constraint. Anything less weird and I would be disappointed.

  8. Can't please everyone eh? We got the Build MK II, everyone complained it wasn't customized enough. Then we got Brave Nu and Honoo Z which IMO we're even less radical with the customizations and there were complaints that they were too lazy.

On another note, anybody have an idea what those things on the feet are supposed to be?

    1. The MK-II was alright, it was nothing wow. It just had the "as long as it gets the job done" look to it, just like the default MK-II. Now, if you compare it to the FA MK-II, it's bland and it raises question, why not just release the FA MK-II instead of releasing a variant of the Super Gundam.

The Brave Nu and Zeta IS a lazy design. It brought nothing new to the table but most importantly, it made a flagship unit look mediocre. We all know what the Nu and Zeta is capable of and the maximum loadout equipment it can potentially carry, HWS Nu, Double Fin Funnel Nu into the Hi-Nu, all 3 variants of Zeta, the Zeta Plus series, Hyper Zeta and ZII. But instead, it removed the Nu's funnel and gave it swiss knife. My bad, swiss knives. And the Zeta ditched it's beam rifle for a Beam Smart Gun. Oh wait, a celwyewyth sword something which was not even an original design but brought over from the Astrays.

I am no expert Gundam Fighter nor Gundam designer but if you wanted a swift melee Nu, would you go for that blocky weapon design or opt for something more feasible like a Hyper Beam Sabers. And you attach an artillery weapon on its shoulder. Like seriously? Advancement in weapon created more accurate radome-assisted weapons but no, let's mount an easily dodgeable shell weapon.

And the Zeta, nothing needs to be said, the anime character that made that unit must have melted his beam rifle and Astray Red Frame in a bucket of thinner and only had the sword laying around to equip his Zeta. He did a good job in making his Zeta resemble the Zeta A1 Plus.

And I believe, given the medieval weapons, those feet things are supposed to be straw sandals but also provide extra thrusters. Apparently, giving the Hummingbird treatment to this would also garner complaints.

    2. IMO, No-funnel Nu is fine. I mean, there are obviously better options but personal customizations are just that, they're supposed to reflect the modelers design, maybe even personality. It's too early to judge the design cause there might be a story behind it.

As for the red Zeta, this is just a marketing strategy by HLJ. Honestly, Caletvwch is going to be the core of the story, being a "Legendary" kit and all. Expect more of this and maybe other magazine exclusives to come up in the story.

    3. I love how the Sengoku Astray looks on its own, although I'd opt to give it another pair of katanas or beam sabers IMO for his extra hands. If this is his full equip, he reminds me of Musashibō Benkei considering his beads and odd assortment of weapons. His "sandals" might be based on a ninja's "water striders", so I'm just guessing in the anime he might move like a DOM when equiped.
