Ironic since Despicable Me 2 is beating the most influential mecha film in Hollywood to date in the box office. Go see Pacific Rim if you support Gundam or mecha in general and prove to the Hollywood big shots that new franchises that are not reboots or sequels can succeed with today's audiences.
