got it in one. basically. having the Radome on a smartgun makes sense, because that beam adjusts itself based on things happening after it's firing. for regular bullets, you might as well put it on the ass, it wont make a difference, as long as it gets the readings.
Not quite, just think of the Phalanx CIWS used for close defense on Navy ships. Vulcans may not be precision but with a good radar sytem the stream of rounds can be directed with a great deal of accuracy.
