OH MY GOD. So this is why Nu's inner frame had all those clear parts. . . . I like it. So I'm assuming that the parts that were clear will actually be clear green?
I believe the clear non-colour parts you've first seen will stay non-coloured as the backlight will light it as green, (or if you got the red Led verson, you can have it light up red.)
But for the psycho frame, it will be the same as the Unicorns, clear green that glow in black light.
It did right before it overloaded. But not Gundam Unicorn type glow. It's a retcon, albeit one that I actually welcome.
We never truly saw the true capabilities of Nu Gundam simply because Amuro rushed to use it against Char (he needed it that bad) and was disintegrated along with the two ace pilots. So the addition might not actually contradict anything from CCA if they explained it as a function that was not utilized by Amuro either because he did not know about it or because he deliberately chose not to use a technology he has no idea what the implications are.
Taken side by side with the Unicorn storyline, it now makes sense. The Unicorn had technology from several suits (the Nu Gundam and the Sazabi among them). If the Nu had a full-psychoframe (albeit unused) that could have played a factor in pushing Axis out of orbit, then the tech might have been re-used because the potential for it is too great to pass up.
No Nu did not have full psychoframe. Watch CCA again. It was fully explained by AE chief engineer October Saran that AE's R&D designed to install psycommu system around the panoramic cockpit pod to create a psychoframe (and it was actually designed for Char's Sazabi but Char/Neo Zeon intentionally leaked the design the Nu's constructor team)
There's no full psychoframe on Sazabi, Nu Gundam, and Hi-Nu. Sinanju is a verification for psychoframe, but it does not have full psychoframe. Only Unicorn and Banshee have full psychoframe.
@anon 10:19 Keep in mind that this is a Ver Ka kit and as such wouldn't be classified as a replacement to the design used in the film. It also would NOT have an effect on the story itself. That doesn't make it a retcon, rather, the tech seen in Unicorn was "retro-fitted" on the Nu.
So if you're upset because this isn't the Nu you've known, then you have all the right to. But this is a redesign, and I give credit to Katoki for doing a job well done.
I predict a late 2013 release for the Sazabi ver Ka. Since the design is apparently done, all that is left is to figure out new gimmicks and an actual prototype. I just wonder what new gimmick will be given to it (since it seems awkward for it to have a full psycoframe like the Nu Gundam).
I've always kind of skeptical of the original design of the Nu gundam. Yet, Katoki was able to completely revamped it, now it has a mighty feeling about it, incredible job.
Storywise Nu just had psyco-frame around the cockpit. To me this is just coping a concept that the Unicorn made popular. The only difference is Nu would be constantly on compared to the Unicorn.
Soo... It seems like I'm the only one here who hates katoki's "big large huge legs" designs and actually prefers the HGUC proportion or original ookawara's Nu?
Does anyone have the feeling that we will get a CCA flashback before Gundam UC ends? It will be pretty epic to see Amuro/Char dueling in their Nu/Sazabi ver. Ka incarnations.
Plausible. Unicorn Ep 7 promo flyer shows a rainbow Unicorn Logo. Obviously Amuro's Nu Gundam shield logo is not too far off from the shape of this logo. Only time will tell.
I think after SEED Destiny, they might want to focus on Gundam: The Origin first and then remaster Zeta, ZZ, and finally CCA. The Origin is a remake of the first series and they can release the others in the order that they happened in the UC storyline. I think many people will welcome a re-run, remaster or a remake of the originals.
If not, then I'll just rewatch my "Tomino Collection" as an alternative (Tomino Collection being Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Char's Counterattack, Victory Gundam, Turn A Gundam).
How? Are they going to retcon CCA so that Full Frontal shows up to tell everyone that he IS in fact Char, and that Amuro also shows up alive and well with Beltorchika and their kids?
Amuro: Hey guys, sorry for making you all cry back in 1998. I didn't die. The last green glow you saw beaming up from Axis was me punching my nu gundam away with Char's escape pod. I had a chat with Char, since he said Lalah was like a mother to him, that kind of makes him my sort of father-in-law if I didn't killed Lalah.
I must be one of the few who actually is not liking this new Ver. Ka design. Katoki redesigned and retcon-ed Nu so it fits his own Unicorn design. This in my option is quite offensive to Yutaka Izubuchi's original design. Watch CCA again. The Psychoframes in both Nu and Sazabi are only built around the 360 cockpit. It was after CCA that AE designed to build psychoframe right in the frame and armor of MS. Not even Sinanju/Sinaju stein has psychoframe like that of Unicorn/Banshee.
This is just a bonus, you don't have to transform it you know. Katoki is just putting his own spin on it and I think he should be allowed to as it is a ver ka.
Oh? So if you want Katoki to do it the way Izabuchi designed it, then why bother release a ver. Ka? Why not just repackage the original Nu. People will still buy that anyway. Like Anon 11:00 said, it's his version, his style, his interpretation. How many ver Kas exist right now? How many of them actually follow their original designs? Each ver Ka kit has subtle to blatant differences from the anime/manga/novel counterparts. If you want a kit that closely follows Izubuchi's design, just settle for the original Nu kit of this one bothers you so much.
First I saw Nu Ver Ka has gimmick of armor separate so I thought does this kit have glowing from the pyscho frame.... Then these pics does show it can have. Oh Bandai you sure know what I think of.....
The secret...he has a destroy mode with green psycho frame. Nice.
ReplyDeleteDoes he also include the vernier effect parts?
ReplyDeletedefinitely not.
DeleteI think those effect parts can be bought separately though.
DeleteThis is Katoki's best work ever, even better than Unicorn.
ReplyDeleteBetter than MG Sinanju? let's see
Deletelol yeah. The MG Sinanju is AMAZING.
DeleteAnon 3:50: Are you kidding? Have you been following the updates of this guy? This guy already shaping up to be the best [MG] Bandai ever created.
DeleteThe only thing that worries me is the ankle articulation, since we only saw it bent for 90 degree.
Anonymous 3:50 here
DeleteThe articulation : all katoki MG's bugs... except Sinanju ( 115 overall review pts. in Dalong.net with Red & Blue frames on the Top 3 )
That's why this viewer said : let's see ;)
But if you are fan of Rx-93, go for it, it may worth every penny ( got the old version and still loved it )
God bless you
No issues with articulation for me. After all you don't need run in space to move fast (e.g. the many thrusters on The O). Just my 2 cents ;)
Deleteso this is the announcement they were talking about? the green psycho frame?
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD. So this is why Nu's inner frame had all those clear parts. . . . I like it. So I'm assuming that the parts that were clear will actually be clear green?

Question: Haven't seen CCA yet, does Nu Gundam's psychoframe glow green?

Retcon is annoying.

c'mon bandai! you've shown us the cockpit of the Sazabi ver ka! so stop hiding it already!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling it's on it's way :)
DeleteThey've already let a pic out on what sazabi ver. ka looks like man

ReplyDeleteDestroyer mode on NU? Damn........
ReplyDelete"This Nu Gundam isn't just for show!!!"
ReplyDeletei hope the articulation's not going to be as bad as the unicorn...
ReplyDeleteStorywise Nu just had psyco-frame around the cockpit. To me this is just coping a concept that the Unicorn made popular. The only difference is Nu would be constantly on compared to the Unicorn.
ReplyDeleteSo wait a sec, did they just retcon that Nu Gundam has full body psycho frame like Unicorn?
ReplyDeleteI thought Nu psycho frame was just around the cockpit.
This is just Katoki's spin on the Nu. This is just a design change, it doesn't actually break the continuity.
DeleteThe only thing that is worrisome is that the beam rifle is too heavy for the wrist joint. Hopefully that isn't the case.
ReplyDeleteSoo... It seems like I'm the only one here who hates katoki's "big large huge legs" designs and actually prefers the HGUC proportion or original ookawara's Nu?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean Okawara's Nu? The original one was created by Yutaka Izubuchi.
Delete@Anon 10:30, yes you're the only one.
Delete@Anon 4:36, speak for yourself. There are lots folks don't dig big feet and huge shins, including me.
Deletei'm Anon 4:36
DeleteSo that probably explains my foot fetish.
You know, the HGUC NU Gundam WAS designed by Katoki, so..
DeleteDoes anyone have the feeling that we will get a CCA flashback before Gundam UC ends? It will be pretty epic to see Amuro/Char dueling in their Nu/Sazabi ver. Ka incarnations.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see that. Maybe a blu-ray of CCA in the future?
DeletePlausible. Unicorn Ep 7 promo flyer shows a rainbow Unicorn Logo. Obviously Amuro's Nu Gundam shield logo is not too far off from the shape of this logo. Only time will tell.

At first, I wanted this model. Now, I REALLY want this epic kit. I also like how Nu is pushing on Axis.

ReplyDeleteThis looks frigging awesome!! Does that stand that hold up the funnels come with the Nu or is it some custom job?
ReplyDeletewhat's the light effect? Please tell me so I can get it!
ReplyDeleteThat is the black light making the psycho frame give that glow.
DeleteAnd yes, it does come with the stand.
