Japanese electronics company has unveiled a 13ft super-robot which can be
controlled by an iPhone.
The company also released a video where very attractive
Anna gives step by step instructions of how to operate the Kuratas.
Rush hour: If you
have grown weary of a traditional commute Kuratas is fully functioning on the
road - but will not get you to work any faster as its top speed barely hits 7
mph
If you are not the piloting kind of millionaire, Kuratas can be operated using what Suidobashi calls the ‘Master-Slave system’ where you control the robot’s movements from outside using any device with a 3G network such as an iPhone.
The video reminds the viewer of the security instructions on an airplane with Anna taking on the role as futuristic airhostess.
Pilot Anna is set to enter the robot's cockpit and poses
with the two men behind it: Wataru Yoshizaki, left and Kogoro Kurata after whom
the robot has been named.

Seriously: This is neat. A bit like one of the Mechs from Votoms - with too many legs. Scratch-building or kit-bashing this from a Scopedog or a Fatty might be an interesting project. Although I don't mind the industry releasing a nice plamo kit.

ReplyDeleteFound myself humming the Votoms theme, while watching the videos :). That is one sweet looking machine, wonder if its test pilots (if any) have the abnormal survivor gene or are Perfect Soldiers?

ReplyDeleteok, this is really cool. now what they need to do is to streamline the design and we're good to go. particularly, they might want to lose the two extra "legs". i am actually toying with this idea ever since my time as an engineering student.
Awesome robot,The leg design reminds me of Eva 05.Though if this was pilot by Lelouch,IT will be a killing spree as he laugh his ass off.XD
