HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-2 Normal
Review Images by Gundam Guy
Gundam AGE-2 Normal [Spoilers Beware] is the variant of the AGE-1 Gundam AGE-1 Normal,[citation needed] appearing in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. The unit is piloted by Asem Asuno.
A next generation Gundam that is built based on the combat data of the Gundam AGE-1.[1][2] The unit is designed as a high speed combat unit, able to turn into Strider Mode, where it is able transform into a fighter-like form to fly at high speeds. The unit also possesses an alternate form, which is accessed by separating the limbs of the mobile suit, similar to the AGE-1.
Aside from its speed, the AGE-2 Normal possess a Hyper DODS Rifle and a much sturdier shield along with a beam saber for close combat. The AGE-System installed in the mobile suit allows it to gather combat data to "evolve" the Gundam when needed.

Transformation to Strider Mode
With Gundam AGE 2nd Generation being broadcast next week, I was really happy that Bandai decides to send in this High Grade sample. This kit was fun to build. I really like the design of the AGE-2 Normal, although it does look akin to various design from Gundam 00. But thats nothing to complain about. The ability to transform into Strider Mode is awesome and give this suit a unique design over it's predessor, Gundam AGE-1 Normal. Now I look forward to the HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-2 Double Bullet. =D
PROS:
- A solid kit that doesn't feel flimsy, especially for a HG kit that can transform.
- Is always a plus when a kit includes a display stand.
- Transformation into Strider Mode is easy and solid.
CONS:
- The AGE logo on the chest has a hole on it (for attaching the Hyper DODS Rifle when transforming into Strider Mode), and looks a bit out of place.
- The Display stand lacks the flexibility when comparing with a regular Action Base

Quick question, does the legs and wings lock in on strider mode? Just worried it will be droopy after quite sometimes. I might get two of this kit, one for fixed pose in strider mode and the other for mobile suit mode.
ReplyDeleteP.S. You forgot to slide the "skirt wings" downward
ReplyDeleteSo the display stand isn't as sturdy as an Action Base? Man I was hoping to have its "Strider" mode do barrel rolls all day long. I mean look at it! Methinks that it looks like an arwing from the Starfox games while it's in Strider Mode.
ReplyDeleteThe cons are rather minor
ReplyDeletewish they had implemented that chest transformation gimmick in the hguc delta plus, in stead of having to do all those part swaps.
ReplyDeleteall those? how many are there here lol...
Deletemidi amp: the skirts stay that way.
