PS3 - Gundam Senki UC 0081 Downloadable Content

Today on Japan's Playstation Store, both the RX-81AS Assault Armor Unit & the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th Unit are available to download for a small fee.

Originally I had thought that I would be able to get an edge in mulitplayer by buying these 2 MS to play. But little did I know that once these units were downloaded & installed, I would still need to work on getting enough points in the game, to be able to purchase them to use. =( I felt suckered. LOL

RX-81AS Assault Armor Unit:
FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th Unit:
Downloading the MSs was a cinch, it costed me 300 Yen for each MS. A fair price.

Now to be able to play the FA-78-3 Full Armor Gundam 7th Unit, I will need to acquire 1,200,000 points. @__@"

I would probably be able to use the AS-81AS Assault Armor Unit first, since this needs only 450,000 points. humph... - _ -'
Anyhow... I shall have a full review of this game by this weekend.

Newtype Magazine (Oct.) - Gundam Related Scans

A few Gundam related scans from this month's Newtype Magazine (Oct. 09):

Nothing new has been announced for the MSG UC 0096 (Unicorn Gundam) OVA series. The article confirms the major characters to be in the OVA series.

Last month, novelist Harutoshi Fukui confirmed that the 1st OVA episode will include contents from the first two volumns of the novels. Although he mentioned that there will be new ideas exclusively shown in the OVA (which of course is a good thing), most of the OVA will be faithful to the novelized series.

Being a UC fan, I look forward to the continuation of the UC timeline. With UC 0096 just 3 years after the events in the film MSG Char's Counterattack, I eagerly awaits the arrival of next Spring. With a worldwide release in both DVD & Blu-Ray format, you can rest assure I will be getting the Blu-Ray version to get the most out of this long awaited release.

On Oct. 27th, 2009, the first of three Gundam 00 SE OVA will be released in Japan. The first release will incorporate the summarized first season of the series with a bit of new footage. If you check out the image above, you will notice one new footage being Alejandro Corner giving Ribbons Almark (better known as Ribonzu) a nice little hug (yeoh!). But personally I much rather they would include some new fight scenes.
As for the Gundam 00 feature film.... that is still indevelopment. More updates later after I get someone to help me translate the article about it.
Here is a poster of Lock-On Stratos from the magazine.

PSP - Gundam Vs. Gundam Next Plus (Update 1)

PSP gamers rejoice! The hit arcade game Gundam Vs. Gundam Next Plus is announced in this week's Famitsu Magazine to be released this year on December 3rd on the PSP console, while the previously announced Gundam Vs. Gundam Next for the PS3 console maybe a piece of fraudulent info.

In this version of the game, all the features from the previous title remain, including all player-usable units, with the exception that G-Crossover has been removed. A new system Next Dash, which can cancel moves instantly was introduced. Automatic blocking has been replaced by manual blocking. The music theme for Z Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny, and Gundam 0083 are changed. Music theme for Gundam 00 has been added, and an additional theme has been added for Mobile Suit Gundam.

Looks like the Unicorn Gundam (both Unicorn & Destroy modes, with RGM-96X Jesta as the supporting unit), 00 Gundam, & Reborns Gundam are playable!

And an asssortment of Gundam Wing MS will be avaliable, same as the arcade version.

PS3 - Gundam Vs. Gundam Next

In the 480th issue of Hong Kong's game magazine GameWave, the cover announced that Gundam Vs. Gundam Next (GVGN) will be the next Gundam game title for the PS3 console.

Gundam Vs. Gundam Next was an updated arcade version (released in Japan in late 2008) from the original Gundam Vs. Gundam (GVG) arcade game. While the PSP console was chosen for the distribution of original GVG, I am glad that Bandai is now expanding their Gundam games selection with GVGN for the thirsty PS3 gamers.

A release date / pricing have yet to be announced.

XN Raiser - Arrived!!!

Thanks to ASM (An American Salaryman in Tokyo), my purchase of the XN Raiser has arrived!

An now I have a delimma..... Which kit should I attach it to? I have 3 options...

I can either attach it to the HG 00 Raiser, HG Cherubim GNHW/R, or the HG Gundam Throne Zwei. The Zwei might not be the best idea, but I like this MS & the conceptual design in my head seems to look good. While I consider the 00 Gundam to have the best configuration for the XN Raiser, but the Cherubim looks really tight with it too. Any opinion / suggestions?

I am currently thinking to build the selected kit w/ XN Raiser and sale it after a month or so of enjoying it sitting on my shelf. Currently I need to finish photo taking the GN-X III, and then work on the HG 0 Gundam (to repay the import game store owner for the Gundam Senki game).
