Namco Bandai Games's Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation adds the White Dingo GM and Zaku II FZ (Type B) in its January 31st update.

The update will also add new gear, as well as increasing the level cap for both gear and mobile suits. See the full details in the official site's Information section.

A new content patch is available for Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation, the PS3 online battle action game from Namco Bandai Games!

This update adds the new "Conquest" battle rule, the new "Live-Fire Training" mode, a new "Quarry" map, and new units like the GM Custom and Acguy.

Existing systems and balance have also been tweaked, and bugs have been fixed. Check out the patch notes to see what's new.

Also, starting at 2:00 on the 5th, the game will celebrate 100 days since release! All current players will received three units of energy. They're gone October 11th, so don't miss them!

■ High points of the patch!

＜New rule: "Conquest"＞

In Conquest, two teams compete to reduce the other side's "War Potential Gauge" to 0, or have the highest gauge when time runs out.

Capture objectives and hold them to drain the enemy's potential. The more you capture, the faster they weaken.

Objective locations are different from under the standard rules, and the mode also introduces buildings that shield those inside from attacks.

While the gauge also decreases when mobile suits and pilots are lost, it's not as effective a tactic as holding territory, and bases are completely indestructable. This is a mode of battle over objectives.

＜New mode: "Live-Fire Training"＞

"Live-Fire Training" allows new players to get the hang of their controls with no worries.

Only available to Privates, it does not consume energy. It can be played with fewer players; 1v1 and 2v2 varians are available.

The rules are mostly the same as standard games, but rewards are reduced, there is no bonus for repeat play, and play is not included in your deployment count.

Tired of Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation? Well... Try MechWarrior Online.

Got sick of Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation's Not-So-Free-to-Play daily limitations? Well, you can now sign-up and try out the currently in beta Free-to-Play online mech battle game, MechWarriors Online.

MechWarrior Online (also known as MWO) is an upcoming free to play, action simulation game under development by Piranha Games for the Microsoft Windows platform. Development of the game is being led by Russ Bullock, president of Piranha Games, and is part of a licensing agreement with Smith & Tinker for the rights to create MechWarrior for the Microsoft Windows platform.

MechWarrior Online is a real-time game where one day in the real world is equal to one day in the game. January 1, 2012 is equal to January 1, 3049. Players take the role of piloting BattleMechs, and can align themselves with one of the Great Houses, form their own Mercenary Corporation, or play as a lone wolf. Of note for this particular timeline in the MechWarrior universe is the impending arrival of the Clans upon the Inner Sphere Houses. It can be extrapolated that this may be the direction MechWarrior Online will head after launch of the basic game.

PS3: Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation - Took it For A Spin Today

PS3: Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation
Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation went live today on Japan's Playstation Network. The game can be easily downloaded for free with the use of a Japan PSN account. Yes, you can access and play this game even if you do not live in Japan. =)

Once the game was installed... I was able to get an online match going within minutes.

Played a few matches... and I must say this game ROCK! Although I couldn't give a good critique of the game with the brief time I had with it. But surely, heading into battle with a team of Zakus against a team of GMs is quite exhilarating for a UC fan like myself. Will definitely be investing more time playing this... perhaps more thoughts about this game later.
