Otakon announced on Monday that Kylee, the Japanese-American singer who sang anime theme songs for Xam'd: Lost Memories, Mobilt Suit Gundam UC, and Heroman, will perform on Sunday, July 31 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
Kylee was born to an American father and a Japanese mother, and she now lives in Arizona. She sang the opening and ending theme songs — "Vacancy," "Just Breathe," and "Over U" — for BONES'
Xam'd: Lost Memories anime on the Sony Playstation Network in 2008, when she was just 14. She then not only performed the theme song "Kimi ga Iru kara" for the live-action feature film
Dareka ga watashi ni Kiss wo Shita (Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac), but also appeared in the film alongside Maki Horikita, Ken'ichi Matsuyama, Yuya Tegoshi, and Anton Yelchin.
Kylee continued to sing theme songs for anime with "missing," the second opening theme song for Stan Lee and
BONES'
Heroman television series. Her latest tie-in song was "Everlasting," the theme song for the second volume of
Mobile Suit Gundam UC.
Kylee made her first appearance at Japan's Summer Sonic concert series in 2009 at the age of 15. She has since appeared this year on the American morning news and entertainment show
Today on May 12 and 13.
