48th Annual Shizuoka Hobby Show Begins Today

The 48th annual Shizuoka Hobby Show will be May 14-17. Here's an advance look at the vendor list and a preview of some of the Gundam stuff thats gonna be debuting there:

HCMPro 01-04 RX78-2 Gundam (Anime Colors)

Here are some images of the HCMPro 01-04 RX-78-2 Gundam. This is to be release in June for 2,310 Yen to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Gundam.

The gimmick for this version is the 'Anime Colors'. After inspecting all the images, it seems this new version really does match the original anime color, but at the cost of details. The original offering of HCMPro 01 RX-78-2 was much more detailed with panel linings, racing strips & darker color scheme. But this new one looks cheap in all aspect, and the new decals doesn't make up for it.

I feel the soul of Bandai is being heavily pulled down by gravity.

1/100 AMS-129 Geara-Zulu Conversion Kit - NEOGRADE Website Updated

This is an update for a previously posted article. Neograde.com has updated their website with painted images of the 1/100 AMS-129 Geara-Zulu Conversion Kit.

This conversion kit is currently a pre-order item from NeoGrade (Korea). This conversion kit is priced at about $139.00USD (plus shipping & handling), with a release date of May 18th. This conversion kit requires the MG Gyan frame for construction, which is sold seperately.

Not sure if there might be a possible MG release for the Geara-Zulu, but hardcore Gundam Unicorn fans might want to check this one out.

Gundam Unicorn News Update

An update from a translated portion of an article from ANN & animenanime.jp

“The animeanime.jp news website reports on Monday (Apr 27 '09) that the Japanese studio Sunrise is planning to release its Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn anime around the world simultaneously. Sunrise had already announced last week that its adaptation of Harutoshi Fukui’s light novels was green-lit for release in the winter of 2009. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun paper had reported earlier this month that Sunrise’s parent company Bandai NAMCO Holdings is planning to distribute its Gundam franchise in 10 languages — Japanese, English, German, French, and others — within this year.

Sunrise has yet to announce the release format of the new Gundam Unicorn anime project.”

Is nice to know that Japanese Studios are trying to reach out to a worldwide market with the simulcast of Gundam Unicorn (or better known as Mobile Suit Gundam UC). There are plenty of speculations as to the format which this project will be made.....be it a movie / TV series / OVA.

Personally, I would like Gundam Unicorn to be a TV series. Since it can flesh out all the intricate details from the novels. But with the offical announcement of this multicast project being made not too long ago, and a not too distant release this Winter... it is getting doubtful that this would be a TV series. So between a movie / OVA, I pray that it would be an OVA release... because a movie is just too darn short.

Cross your fingers, and let's hope is either a TV series or an OVA.

Gundam Unicorn Related Videos

Just a couple videos of Gundam Unicorn that I found on YouTube. They were from awhile back, but nevertheless, it helps to fill in the thirst for the upcoming UC animated series.

This is the promotion video for the novelization of the MSG UC (Gundam Unicorn) series. This one is my favorite:
This video is a fan-made opening for Gundam Unicorn:
