  1. Are they going to revive old kits now!?!

  2. So they are going to pump out yet another new mold of RX-78 but not bother to make new molds to fix the Hi-Nu's problems when it gets a legitimate new kit.

    1. Can you just wait 'til Bandai realize that giving us 6 functional funnels for ¥2200-¥2600 it's profit?

    2. not even talking about the fin funnels. talking about they didn't update the build at all. Granted its a very nice build and pretty unique for a hg but still it does have some issues that could have been addressed with the new release.

  3. Yay another grand Daddy gundam

  4. Pretty sure they're using parts from the HG Amazing red warrior. I wouldnt mind getting a HG full armor gundam if they ever decide to make one :)

    1. Try to look at the red warrior's runners. It doesn't seem like they'll be reusing that same mold.

  5. "New mold" is really a remold of the Amazing Red Warrior...

    1. You forget that Red Warrior has its pieces based on G30th's parts. Basically its a fusion of RX's HGUC, G30 and some Red Warrior parts

  6. Yeah, not like we have a 1/144 scale RX-78 with amazing articulation and details already ....

    1. Not a High Grade, and not one with a full release. No need for the RG pressure. Some of us don't like that line.

  7. 1000 yen, i presume it won't come with bazooka, hammer and core fighter,

    1. Yeah, No bazooka, that's exactly why those pictures don't have it at all. No bazooka there. Nope.

  8. I still prefer my FG 1/144 Gundam... best articulation ever

  9. so... another big Daddy? they will never have the original gundam in peace... still, G3 will allways be the "true gundam"

    1. im sorry, why is G3 the "true Gundam"? was it the first Gundam shown in a Gundam series? NO
was it ever in an anime? NO
RX-78-2 is the original, not the RX-78-3(which is just a silver and blue RX-78-2)

    2. >RX-78-2 is the original, not the RX-78-3(which is just a silver and blue RX-78-2)

Nope, technicaly G3 is variation of RX-78 which served as testbed for magnet coating feature before they install it on Amuro's RX-78-2. Then magnet coating are used on other RX-78 variation from G04 to G07 and Alex. At outside, there's no difference with RX-78-2 and G3 save the color but inside G3 have better spec thanks to magnet coating.

Now for the real fact. At first G3 was supposed to be the real RX-78..... then come request from some toy company before bandai which to be sunrise sponsor requested for change the color of RX-78 from blue silver to be RWB (Red-White-Blue). A reason? For appealing the children to buy its toys, and in that era influence of super robot genre still big. Because there's no other choice for sunrise so they won't lost their sponsor, they changed the color of RX-78 which to be RX-78-2.

As for G3, they put it on MSV list which served as collection of some design which they intended to use it on anime but never happened. In fact, G3 served as Amuro's upgraded MS on novelization of First Gundam.

It's true in anime canon RX-78-2 is the original gundam, but before that here is G3 which served as the true concept of RX-78: monotone color that meant truly a tool of war, not an colorful war machine that serve for toys commercial.

    3. A concept cannot be considered the true original. I'm sure there were many concepts even before the G3. Regardless of the reasons for why the final RX-78-2 was chosen, that design was chosen in the end and is the true original.

Otherwise, according to your logic the very first concept sketch ever jotted down on paper would be the true original. It just doesn't work that way.

    4. Then we also have the RX-78-1.

    5. It's the fucking "true gundam" cuz fucking Tomino original Colors design for the RX-78-2 was supposed to be those. But,you know,it's not fancy nor childish. So they went with the actual colors that we all know: WBRY

    6. RX-78-2 was supposed to be a pure white, ya'll would know that if you read Gundam Sousay

  10. This is nice, but please tell me they plan on using the HGUC hands for this. Those other hollow blocks they give the HGBF kits are horrid.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. those were the hands in the SDBF kits, Winning, Star Winning, and SDG. the rest of the HGBF models had relatively standard HG hands

    2. Hopefully he's talking about "peg-connection" hands,like UC kits (UC=Unicorn)

  11. RG rx78 was a fail ok but this one has a too vintage look. Why bandai just doesn't bring the hguc version of the PG rx78 or at last the Ver.Ka since the molder it's 80% done by the hguc GM Kai and GM custom?

  12. Give me GM Revive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. This is awesome. I do wish it had the bazooka or maybe the hammer, and it does not appear to, but for 1080 yen, I am not particularly shocked, and lord knows I could just borrow them from another kit. The much improved articulation is well worth it.

  14. I always wanted a HG RX78 ever since I started collecting Gunpla.

I guess this would be a good start, along with Zaku II Origin.

  15. hopefully we get ver. ka in HG 1/144 form

  17. Pass, better wait for RX-78 The Origin

    1. Sorry to burst your bubble but The Origin movies only focuses on Char and Sayla. So no HGOrigin RX-78 and no Amuro.

      Delete
    2. have you read gundam the origins ? it's the story of the gundam 0079, so there'll be RX-78 and others.

      Delete
    3. Gundam the origin is two different stories, the manga is Mobile Suit Gundam, but the anime/movies are following Casval/Char and Artesia/Sayla.

  18. Was it just my eyes,or instead of white white, the actual plastic have a subtle tint of green...which is nice touch I'd say; go retro. XD

  19. Pass, I'm sick about vintage style rx-78 that already have several versions in 1/144. Time for a ver.ka rx-78
