Since it's a Japanese modeler it's pretty easy to guess that it was done with GSI Creos Mr Color and/or Gaia Notes. Alclad is a possibility for some of that frame detail but I doubt it. Can't really tell what method though. Could be a silver base with a clear red on top or a red with some pearl sprayed on top.
Have to say it looks nice but I'm not a fan of the single color. I think the Katoki design loses something when it doesn't have the different shades of red. I am planning to do mine metallic but I plan to keep the different reds.
Cool! I thought he was using car paint and I don't have an airbrush that can blow car paints. Those paints you mentioned are available locally. Thanks for the tip man!
