  1. So Bandai decided to latch onto the open hatch phenomenon?

  2. Kind of reminds me of Break Blade. Hopefully more suit designs. While novel and exciting I don't what I've seen so far is getting me hyped. Taking a wait and see approach. Anime needs to start NOW though.

  3. That Gundam looks so thin, the hip especially. Mah gawd, still a nice and unique design at least.

    1. Probably transformable one

    2. Inb4 somewhere out there some troll from another blog be bitching that this is a rehash out of from BS reason he made up and making homophobic babbling.

      Delete
    3. Barbatos is incomplete, so the thin and exposed look was intentional.

  4. This gave me a better 1st impression than the G-Self did when it first dropped so I'm loving it so far.

    1. Indeed and for some reason, it felt like the first time I saw Exia when 00 was launched. Hope it will not be equipped with "BIG Back Packs". Can't wait to watch it.

  5. they look familiar. same mechanical designer from 00 and that's fine with me 'cause i like the design of mechas from that show.

    1. See it's funny, I hate 90% of the designs from 00 but I've loved every single one I've seen out of this show, I guess this series has 5 mech designers though so maybe it's just more variety and discussion among them that's bringing out the crazier designs.

  6. I'm intrigued. Upgradable with a common base frame. Armor appears to be quite scarce.

Also don't get the hate on the waist section. Not all mobole suits are fat basterds :p

  7. ugh bad bad bad. The G-self is a masterpiece compared to this thing. I mean the head is kinda cool, the rest...not so much. The graze thing looks terrible, it just screams "I am cannon fodder blow me up by the hundreds". Almost as bad as the Leo's in wing gundam.

    1. If you think G-Self is a better design at all, the problem is you not the series.

      Delete
    2. Agree, G-Self was over hyped and well below under-performing; heck even the creator said it was confusing to understand....

      Delete
    3. Lmao you're a dumbass. The G self a masterpiece? That design was boring as hell and everybody wasn't feeling it when it first came out. It's definitely you that's the problem not the series.

    4. What kind of monster hates on the Leo?

    5. "What kind of monster hates on the Leo?"
      wrong question......

    7. Am I the only one that feels the G-self is 90% just a slimmer RX-78-2?If you take away the head and the blue on the legs it is the same model but thin.

  9. Gundam "frame"...not flame lol

  10. Gundam Flame, shows the Frame. You guys are still in Kindergarten, right?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Gundam Flame should be Gundam frame.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Not so impressive design so far. Kimaris and Gusion just look so bad and un-gundam. Only Schwalbe/Schwalbe Graze look positive to me. Will they be the next Flag-like classics?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Kimaris un-gundam? Aside from the pot-like head, it has most of the design qualities of a gundam present.

You probably haven't seen Turn A yet.

      Delete
  13. Uh oh, variety in the Gundam type designs? The fanboys aren't gonna like that.

I love 'em by the way, the design team on this show is really pulling its weight!

    ReplyDelete
  14. That Gusion looks like it came from G-Reco and the Kimaris is from AGE. That Kimaris though doesn't even have any slight resemblance to a gundam. Not. One. Bit!

So the standard look of gundam is too mainstream now huh?

    1. I think in this world the out ward appearance doesn't matter. I think what matters is that the MS is using the Gundam Frame. I'm surprise the Gundam Frame is able to handle that bulky Kimaris armor

      Delete
    2. In this series any mobile suit that has the "Gundam Frame" is considered fair game. Honestly I like the design of the kimaris because it has that knight theme going on with the lance and everything and to me the gusion looks like what a gundam look like if they were turtles. You're still entitled to your opinion but I like the direction they're going with these. These like look they're made to fight first and not just look cool.

      Delete
  15. you would think they hg would translate it into the obvious frame not flame

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't like this design.the waist is very very thin.this gundam can be destroy easily by a normal melee weapon like beam saber.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The other unit who has more armor than this ms here still easy being destroyed by beam saber, so having thin waist or not it doesn't matter

      Delete
    2. Yeaaah so far there aren't beam sabers in iron blooded orphans.

      Delete
  17. Gusion has a Pepe face.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I am pretty sure they meant 'Gundam Frame' not 'Flame' considering it's a picture of the gundam's inner frame..

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hmmm A skeletal frame with armor pieces covering them.

It reminds me of shows like Medabots or LBX: Little Battlers Experience (Also known as Danbōru Senki)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Replies
    1. Makes sense considering the designers show the kimaris's armor unfolding to reveal boosters

      Delete
  21. Pretty sure that's Gundam frame, not Gundam Flame. If you look, it's pretty clearly the inner frame used by Barbatos and (probably) Gushion.

    ReplyDelete
  22. That Gusion is not a Gundam.
    Kimaris looks ugly.
    Hyakuren looks like a GN-X.

    ReplyDelete

    1. It uses the gundam frame so yeah it is a "Gundam". Like I've said before anything with a gundam frame will be called a gundam

  23. Gundam Kimaris is the white one and Gundam Gusion is the bulky green one, GG please correct this.

  24. What the heck is with these people and saying something doesn't "Look like a Gundam?" I mean come on, there were plenty of Gundams that broke the mold, like Exia, or the GP02, or the Turn A for crying out loud. And don't even get me started on the Tallgeese, b/c that's a Leo. Come on people, let the designers get creative.

On another note, the Gundams here are friggin epic, and I for one can't wait for sets and to see them fight in the show.

Also, anyone else see a merging of Mech designs? The Gusion (The bulky green one) screams g-reco, but this time with a more down-to earth feel. The Barbados itself seems to be 00, along with the Hyukaren. And the Kimaris(The obviously gundam one with the white tower on it's head and a V-fin) looks like G-reco again, but also like an upgrade to the Barbatos. Not that I want that one. I'mma call it mushroom-head.

    1. Because any designs that's outside their "Comfort zone" is ugly or not gundam to them.
I want to give props to the designers for breaking the mold and going outside the box in making unique designs, not just the same-old typical Gundam designs that we always get.

And lol probably most of these people haven't seen Turn A and G-lucifer yet and already complaining..

      Delete
    2. Wasn't the Tallgeese first than the Leo?

      Delete
    3. Barbatos has an awkward lineart in its design. i think if you wanna compare the alternative gundam design. try Gaia-Gear Alpha. i know i know its not a "Gundam" but after all its timeline is set around UC.

in my opinion, even for a non-gundam mecha, barbatos design is not that appealing. in terms of linearts design. tengen toppa gurren lagann (the last form) i think still has better design. Barbatos is.. i dunno, its a bit try so hard to be "awesome" looking, as a gundam in my opinion, Graze and Gusion has more natural when it comes to term "appealing design"

      Delete
    4. @Hiruma Berserker. So I guess he should be saying that the Leo's just an extremely weak Tallgeese

  27. I really want to like the ms designs, I really do, it looks cool and it is new, but at the same time, there are something about all of the design that just turns me away.

    ReplyDelete
  28. If you compare the "claws" on the feet of Barbatos type 6 to the previous artworks you'll notice that they're the same size and wide. It only means that the Gundam frame's feet are not squeezed unlike in the HG version.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Now that I've had time to get used to the designs I really like them.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It's sad to see Gundam Gusion only appears in only 2 episodes and not much been used in action. I really like the Gusion, although Gusion Rebake is more awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I knew that some of the designs of the IBO ms is designs that didn't make it into G reco, but WOW! Kimaris Trooper looks if it came straight from it and so those the gundam Astaroth

    ReplyDelete
  32. Astaroth a new protagonist Gundam for season 2? Or manga spinoff only?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Most probably just for the side story.

      Delete
    2. It's an MSV manga spin off

      Delete
  33. Astaroth's head looks exactly the same as G-Arcane :P

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, it looks like something that came straight out of G-recco, perhaps a design they didn't use. The head looks like G-Arcane's and the side boosters look like G-Lucifer's.

Not like it's a bad thing though, I do really like the design style of this designer.
