Jed's Island Resort - A Life-Size Statue of the RX-78-2 Gundam!
Location: McArthur Highway, Calumpit, Bulacan
Jed's Island Resort is filled with statues of cartoon characters to even familiar mechas, among them a gaint RX-78-2 Gundam look alike statue. The resort made the statue with a deformed look, as well as placing markings that advertise the resort. But there is no mistaking... the statue is the RX-78-2 Gundam.
[Updated 3/5/15] *NEW*
Looks like they have repainted the color of this RX-78-2 Gundam lookalike statue... perhaps they had taken some flak from from the fans.
[Updated 2/14/15]
To all the people who is in the Philippines please burn it to the ground including the bumblebee bullshit.

ReplyDeleteThey're gonna need some bigass plaplates to fix that.
ReplyDeleteOn behalf of the Filipino Gundam Fans, I would like to apologize for the mistake that this resort has made.
ReplyDeleteThis is in the Philippines, no wonder Voltes V and Mazinger look so much better than ol RX-78.
ReplyDeletethe RX-78-2 or the Zeta Gundam could also be a good (or even better) anti-Marcos symbol just like Voltes V, if they aired in the Philippines (The 2 shows aired through Animax but obviously, they are aired LOONG after the Marcos regime)
DeleteITs not near with the gundam (gunpla) model But its almost near to the anime version. LOL. Regarding this one what does bandai says about it?

DeleteIts his interpretation of the 782. Abstract art
ReplyDeleteIts funny how this comments of butthurt gundam "nerds" make this a serious topic. Bootleg supporters that hate another bootleg maker. Lol..
ReplyDeleteSo we've already seen the build of a crappy RX-78 statue, the backlash, and the painting it in ridiculous colors in response to the backlash. I can't help but feel we're following a pattern here, so when do the random spikes and tubes come into the picture?
ReplyDeleteI cant believe Bandai let's it stand....
ReplyDeletedo we get resin conversion kits for this, you know for my HG RX-78-2?
ReplyDeletethey were not made to impress you.
