The AK models work great for tactical minis battles. I've used mine along with rules adapted from the star wars x-wing minis game depicted here:

The AK minis are also exceptionally posable for their size and cost. While not as impressive as the standard model kits, they are fun to pose and repose. I have a couple at my work, and they're nice and relatively unobtrusive.
I don't understand the purpose of these, they all look too awful and puny for any sort of display
