Gundam Build Fighters: Season Two Teaser Images
Shots were released early from the upcoming Blu Ray Box Set. In the image you see an adult China writing to a family member. But what is more interesting is the letter itself.
Leave us a comment below on what you think this means.
OMG They Grow so fucking fast, LOVE CHINA GROW UP.
ReplyDeletewell atleast she ain't flat no more :D
DeleteWho is 香坂ゆうま?
ReplyDeleteAmazing cant wait for season 2
ReplyDeleteShe lives in Paris?
ReplyDeleteShe is a prodigal artist winning different prices for her work when she was younger, so maybe she went to Paris to continue pursuing that carreer
DeleteIf I had to guess, Yuuma is Sei and China's child. But what's more interesting is that China wrote the letter from France. Hmmmmmm.......
ReplyDeleteSei's full name is Sei Iori and China's full name is China Kousaka.
Deleteusually the child will take on the family name of the father so it is very unlikely that Yuuma is Sei and China's child.
most probably Yuuma is China's little brother or something, since i highly doubt Bandai will do a NTR and break the Sei-China pairing up.
But if Yuuma is Sei and China's child, his family name should be "Iori" instead of "Kousaka" (because usually the wife follows the husband's family name, and so on to their childrens).
DeleteIMO if Yuuma is Sei and China's child.. it must use last name Iori not kousaka.
DeleteShouldn't it be Yuuma Iori though? Maybe Yuuma is China's mother or something.
DeleteIf Yuuma is China and Sei's child then why
Deletehis/her last name is Kousaka?
Here's a though maybe they had a kid before marriage
Deletegeeze people this is only like 5 or 6 years later. China and Sei are still teenagers for god's sake.
DeleteUnless something happened to Sei, thus the child would take over the mother's family name instead.
Deleteyuuma is china's brother.
DeleteGundam Build Fighters S1 Episode 3... geez, how can you say that it's their child when the surname of the guy on the letter is Kousaka? It's definitely her brother...
DeleteIt could be her father.
Deleteis that commander gundam that aila used? if yes why china had it?
ReplyDeletebecause aila is in a different world now with reiji, so that commander gundam was just left behind
DeleteI've lost my lolicon sense -_-
ReplyDeleteGood. Loli garbage should stay out of gundam.
DeleteConsidering we see multiple characters in the original series naked during a bathing scene and newtype projections. Including the 4 year old kikka. and dont even started on the nudity of young teenagers in gundam seed/ destiny openings.
DeleteThe child part is bogus.. look at the surname.. its not iori so its not sei's child.. did she hitch up with someone else?
ReplyDeleteDidn't china have a little Brother?
DeleteI think she is in France to promote GunPla there, while Sei and Yuuma (their kid?) stayed in Japan to watch over the store and get ready for the next tournament.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm mistaken, but was France ever represented in Build Fighters Season 1?
I wonder how Reiji will make his comeback in Season 2. You know he's going to come back. I'm also curious to see Baker and Mashita come back as well since at the end of Season 1, we saw them selling those Mocks on the streets.
Excited to see (of course) which Master Grades we'll get from maybe Season 1 and also Season 2. Exia Amazing and Exia Dark Matter would be awesome considering the HGs got released and people seemed to like it a lot.
Another thing that is stamp.. It's obvious Sei on there, but what's the Gundam behind him? It doesn't really look like Build Strike...
No one cares what you think.
DeleteI want a Metal Build Amazing Exia, actually
DeleteMaybe Build Gundam Mk-II
DeleteOkay since I don't know how the naming system after marriage in Japan works, does the husband's last name become the wife's last name when they get married in Japan or do the names stay the same? In which case, is China married to Sei, or is she still single and she's actually just sending a letter to, possibly, her parents?
ReplyDeleteWhile the tradition is for the women and children to take on the father's family name, it's not unheard of for Japanese men to take on their wife's family name instead, which is done more if the wife's family is better off in reputation or finance than the husband's.
Deleteif yuuma is china kousaka and sei child it means that yuuma name should be yuuma iori not yuuma kousaka. I guess. I jusy wondering what is that pict of iori sei mean on the letter
ReplyDeleteMy guess is Sei and China went to France to promote Gunpla. They are not married yet (China is still a Kousaka and not Iori). Yuuma is obviously not their child. A cousin or brother/sister of China.
ReplyDeleteSei and China being gone to France/Europe will not be the main protagonists in S2. It's possible this Yuuma and their friends will be the new mains. I'd guess series would start off with characters in school still like Sei was at beginning and work it's way to the championship again.
China's finally grow up, so that we can talk about her in the way we can't before (if you know what i mean :p)
ReplyDelete..and stop assuming that china is a mother now.. rather, she looked like teenager or 20's at most
besides it's yuuma kousaka, not yumma iori..
GBF S2 FTW!!!!
Plot twist: China & Iori loved each other and she is bearing his offspring. But just before the wedding, Iori Sei died in an accident. Therefore China is a single mother now.
ReplyDeleteDafaq?
DeleteWtf
DeleteOooh then Mr. Ral has a chance! China will be looking for someone that could provide for her and baby...
Deletechina age 18-20 perhaps? goes college in france?
ReplyDeleteyouma kousaka probably her mother?
Writing a letter to China's brother.
ReplyDeleteGuys who still don't get it, if Yuuma is really Sei's child and therefore China is married to Sei, their name should be China Iori and Yuuma Iori.
ReplyDeleteEither Yuuma is China's family member, or I sense some feels will incoming.
You know Sei is legit when they made a post stamp of him when he was younger.
ReplyDeleteIf memory serves me right at the end of episode 03, China brought her younger brother (name unmentioned) to Sei's shop to buy a gunpla kit for him. Is it possible that the letter is meant for the younger brother?
ReplyDeleteI think China is there as an exchange student in arts or studying arts there, Yuuma would most prob be her little bro, since like all you guys said a married couple in Japan both parties would usually take on the husband side surname and thier child will also take on the surname from the father.
ReplyDeleteIIRC, China was trying to buy some kits for her younger brother
ReplyDeleteDidn't we see her little brother in the earlier episodes of season 1 visiting the lori hobby store with her? That's probably Yuuma himself.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably China's dad or her little brother, we never learned their names.
ReplyDeleteYuuma unkown character, obviously new too.
ReplyDeleteWhy are people here hooked onto the idea of that Yuuma is the child of China and Sei? >_>;
Because of shipping and people love to make assumptions
Deletecheck out the stinger of episode 3

@suiton629 that is build strike (or star build strike). Just take a closer look.
ReplyDeleteI'm french and if the scene takes place in France, I will be so happy \o
ReplyDeleteThe first Gundam in France *happy*
Rose Gundam of Gundam G would like to speak a word with you.
DeleteGuys really?
ReplyDeleteIt was mentioned that China had a little brother in the anime. She even came with him to the shop at the end of episode 3 after the ending song.
So the facts that we have are that China is in France (for whatever reason), she's writing to a family member, and that Sei has his own face and gundam on postage stamps around the world lol.
What we can deduct from this is that:
A) She is most likely writing to her little brother, judging from the first name, Yuuma.
B) Her little brother (if we assume that Yuuma is his name) has become a gunpla builder, and probably a fighter too, since he began to be interested in gunpla from the aforementioned episode 3, and he must have matured from the time that went past to make China look like that. And he may be a fan of Iori Sei, judging from the fact that she is using a post stamp with both Sei and his gunpla (that look like the Star Build Strike to me, no offense Suiton) on a letter to him. She may, of course, just be using such a stamp just because she likes Sei, but I believe China is too much of a reserved and shy character to suddenly start using the face of the boy she likes nonchalantly, when she was embarrassed to to even walk with him in the series. So, she is probably using such a stamp because her brother likes it.
C) If both A) & B) are true, then we can most likely assume that her brother, Kousaka Yuuma, may be the main protagonist in season 2. This is based on two points:
1. Her little brother is suddenly mentioned in the transition period between season 1 and season 2. She could have just as easily wrote a letter to Sei, but they chose to show China writing a letter to her brother in this specific timing. Coincidence?
2. If you guys remember how the Gundam in the middle of the season 2 teaser image looked like, you will know that it has a striking resemblance to Sei's Build Strike Gundam. If her little brother IS a fan of Iori Sei, then it's quite likely that he got the inspirations for his Gundam design from his role model.
I wrote this essay to share the deductions that I got from the picture, but the fact is I want Iori Sei and Reiji to be the main protagonists again with their experienced, more mature mind and body, instead of some snotty kid who's related to China. (LOL)
This looks about 7 years in the future. The Command Gundam is likely a momento for Aila
DeleteIn anime and elsewhere, there have been occasions where characters have taken their mother's surname (e.g. Jin Kazama of Tekken fame). I myself have taken my mother's surname. But it's way too early to tell who Yuuma really is; if anything Yumma could be China's kid brother running through Sei's shop in Season 1.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is for season 2. Character illustrations of older-China were released months ago. I vaguely remember reading that older-China was supposed to be shown in the last scene of the last episode (when Sei sent out the Build Strike Cosmos), but the idea was scrapped by the time the animation was made. They opted to just have China wear different clothes. I'm thinking these images are from a director's cut; exclusive scenes that can only be watched if you purchase the Blu-Ray box set -- kind of like the extra battle scenes from Season 1 of Gundam 00.
ReplyDeleteChina was shown to be proficient in fine arts so her being in France might mean that she is taking further studies there. The first image also shows 3 paintings close to each other on the wall. The proximity of the paintings to each other is unusual if they were just house decorations. I'm thinking those are her works on display in the room she's occupying.
The SD Command Gundam might be Aila's. China and Aila did get along quite well. China must have felt sad when she suddenly disappearing with Reiji. I'm thinking she is just holding on to the SD as a memento or Aila.
LOL nailed it.
DeleteWe are forgetting the most OBVIOUS mistake!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWHO WRITES SNAIL MAIL AT THIS TIME AND DAY! It seems to me that GBF has the same tech as in the real world except for the Plavsky particles. so snail mail???
What? Its still more personal
Deleteyou, kid... have certainly no idea how it feels like to receive a snail mail that is not from banks and cards asking to pay money...
DeleteDid no one notice the stamp?!
ReplyDeleteI was just about to say that. yes HIS FACE AND GUNDAM ARE A STAMP OMG. its good to be the champ.
DeleteI'm probably the only one wondering why they are still writing letters when they have the technology to make gunpla fight each other. Sentimentality or something?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the place she's staying at has shitty internet provider
DeleteMay people consider letters to be more personal than email or a phone call. The letter can be saved as a momento especially if someone has died.
Deleteit shows how young you are, kid...
DeleteWhat I really want to know is who the heck writes letters anymore?
ReplyDeleteMy take on this is that Iori becomes famous as a builder/fighter and our new MC's China's little brother
ReplyDeleteI still want my Rinko Iori in S2. Don't disappoint the Mom-cons, Sunrise.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Still writing letters even with all the techs they have? Maybe some still likes the old method.
ReplyDeleteTo commenters asking about the snail mail thing:
ReplyDeleteMany people (myself included) still use snail mail to send post cards, hand-made letters or other "event" cards (birthdays, get-well-soon cards) even today in the age of the internet. If you go into post shops, $1-stores or book stores you'll see many cards and stationery still available for purchase. Some people still do appreciate the gesture of making/purchasing and sending out a card or letter.
Also, dat Sei stamp!!!
China kousaka is my waifu now
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody here knows the name of China's dad? have you ever considered that angle???
ReplyDeleteyuuma is china's father
ReplyDeleteshe's became felini bitch now ?
ReplyDeleteFelini is Italian, not French.
DeleteIf China's little brother will be a protagonist, then he might name a gundam kit after his older sister.
ReplyDeleteGet ready for the true China Gundam!
I think the gunpla next to bearguy san is aila's command gundam
ReplyDeletethey still you letter?
ReplyDeleteYuuma is China's little brother, one of season 2's protagonists. Confirmed.
ReplyDeleteThat way of drawing the mouth, its similar to Love Live.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder I found it familiar when watching Love Live.
..did she just say 'china iori' in the end?
ReplyDeleteRal is still 35 years old. I'm sure that he has something to do with this
ReplyDelete
