  1. Looks like it unless they're going the route of going super detailed like resin kits.

  2. Mg needs more love.

  3. Personally I probably won't care. I've only purchased 1 RG model kit, and I've given up on MG (not that MG is bad or anything, just that I prefer HG myself.), Purchased 1 PG too and wont do that ever again. I know everybody has there own preferences, but as long as the HG 1/144 kits continue, I'm fine with Bandai coming out with whatever they want. HOWEVER, as someone who lives outside Japan, i despise the Bandai Online exclusives. Some of the kits they release are ones I would like to have but the only way for me to get them are from online stores which jack up the prices and make them not worth getting in the first place. Would just like Bandai to end those online exclusives altogether, but really don't think thats gonna happen :(

    1. If you care with joint durability, you'll want to avoid any HG or below. Stick with RG, MG, or PG.

      Delete
    2. dont care, HG have tons of mobile suit variation while MGs and RGs have is full of mainstream gundams
also implying MG have better joint durability.. solid yes, but joint durability? pfffft

      Delete
    3. I would actually disagree. The inner frames on the MG and PG line tend to put more weight on the joints. I've had a couple of MGs go floppy. The Gelgoog 1.0 and Zeta Gundam 1.0 are rag dolls. I've never had a HG go floppy.

    4. HG Astray Blue Frame 2ndL can lift its own Tactical Arms, while MG Astray Blue Frame 2nd Revise cannot.
Speaks volume about HG joint durability, that fact.

      Delete
    5. Hmm. One of my HG kits, the AGE-FX, had a hip joint go flop. It never stayed in one place before sliding back down, and is never able to stand straight without an action base.

    6. @anon 1:37

      you a fookin hipster. GTFO

MG is full of mainstream gundams? Zplus A1/C1 aint mainstream, MG Gogg aint mainstream, MG guntank aint mainstream, MG F91 aint mainstream, MG Ball aint mainstream, MG G04 & G05 aint mainstream, MG stamen aint mainstream, MG Rick dias aint mainstream, MG Geara Doga aint mainstream.
you and your fookin hipster friends.

    7. I like mg kits, but I have not had any problems with joint durability on any newer hg. I did however have an arm peg snap off my dom tropen after a shelf malfunction almost a decade ago, but that was such an easy fix. I just used an extra piece of sprue.

  4. I am down for "High Detail Appearance" and "Sophisticated Parts Composition." Cause it sounds like 1/100 real grades to me

    1. meh 1/100 real grades already exist, rx-78 3.0, Nu ver ka and Sazabi Ver ka. i dont think so, they would probably make something that doesn't exist. something FAR from their modern MGs. and RG 1/100 is not what it is.

      Delete
  5. i think they starting to think of upgrading future/existing mgs to be more like those of Nu and Sazabi ver kas! GOGO NEWW and SASABEYSS! i WANT A V2 1/100!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. 1/100 RG is my guess.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Probably sharper edge? More mecha like Real Grade 1/100?

    ReplyDelete
  8. So, RG technology in MG form instead of HG form? YES!!!!! YES!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. are you missed the train or something? We already have MG Nu Ka , Sazabi Ka and MG 3.0
since when RG are based on HG?

      Delete
    2. You do realize that the point of the RG line is the the exact opposite? It put the MG inner frame in the HG size. The only new thing that the RG line introduced to the MG line with the RX-78-2 Version 3 was the multiple shades of white, red, etc. instead of just plain red, white, and blue.

      Delete
    3. Exactly, everybody was fired up for the RG Exia...when it was pretty much the same MG kit in 1/144. Nothing new besides some decals and the pre-ensambled frame.

      Delete
    4. I believe to have mistyped on what I was meant to say. I was meant to say that this new category would be something like RG in 1/100 scale instead of 1/144 scale. If anything, this new category could be a plamo version of Metal Build.

      Delete
  9. I'm hoping for a 1/100 HD scale.. not as insane as MG, but do various kits in 1/100 that NEED a 1/100 release! That or I hope that its an HG release of suits the've never released before

    ReplyDelete
  10. This new category is expanded would be a new line of 1/100 scale gunpla kits and stated to have "High Detail Appearance" and "Sophisticated Parts Composition."
    ---------------------

Does anyone have a better translation for the first half of this sentence? I'm guessing whatever 1/100 kit they announce will be the first of a new line? Pretty confusing wording.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I bet it is some like AGE MG with detail but no intermal frame.

    ReplyDelete

  13. whatever line it is, the first will always be a RX-78-2. GUYs, brace for impact, one year after 3.0, another RX is coming...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. heh but HGUC line RX-78-2 is not the 1st though

      Delete
  14. Maybe it's a PG in MG size.....

    ReplyDelete
  15. It's probably a 1/100 rg line which most people claimed the 3.0 gundam was. I don't really care unless bandai is going to revisit the older none 2.0 Mg kits and make them in this new line.

  16. no polycap only abs joints like rg

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thats been done already. MG F91, Unicorn, Sinanju.

      Delete
    2. yes i know in my point of view i liked the more detail abs jonint like in rg just hope i hated polycap parts because its like a disposable rubber

      Delete
  17. So.. The first three gundam figures coming out of this new 1/100 RG is probably going to be RX-78, Zaku, and Strike... which means I can wait a year or two before they do other Gundam designs that are more appealing and in need of 1/100 renewals.

    ReplyDelete
  18. My guess is a revival of 1/100 High Grade kits...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Since Gunpla build fighter it's like they'd given up on MG's ( not much releases ). But with Bandai there's no surprise and we all know it's going to be a zaku's released.

IMO, 1:100 RG doesn't make sense, they won't produce same kits in 1:100 rather than 1:144

    ReplyDelete
  20. All I heard was "Bandai announces the burning of all customer wallets."

    ReplyDelete
  21. 1/100 MR master real grade

    ReplyDelete
  22. All those maintenence hatches and stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Another way to release the RX-78-2...

    ReplyDelete
  24. As long it has durable joints, I don't mind.
I always preferred MG over non-MG 1/100 scale in the past because MG has long-lasting joint durability.
There were some good non-MG 1/100 kits that I bought in the past, but only last for a year or so before joint becoming loose, and no longer pose-able without stand.
While most my MG joints still stiff and in good condition even after 4+ years

  25. 08th MS Team COME ON BABY!

  26. My prediction for the grades' name is either Special Grade (SG), Expert Grade (EG), Ultra Grade (UG), or New Grade (NG)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I hope they don't start with RX 78-2 again... I'd really like to see other units in MG or this new 1/100 kit. (ex. remaining 00 suits etc)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. With the exception of the HGUC line they have started EVERY new line with the RX-78-2.

      first Perfect Grade: RX-78-2
      first Jumbo Grade: RX-78-2
      first Master Grade 1.0: RX-78-2
      first Master Grade 2.0: RX-78-2
      first Master Grade 3.0: RX-78-2
      first Real Grade: RX-78-2

I'd have to say that the odds of the first kit of the new category being the RX-78-2 are pretty high...

      Delete
    2. The first 2.0 was the RX-178 Gundam Mk.II, but yeah it seems pretty certain to be another RX-78-2

      Delete
    3. MG v2 start with RX-178

      Delete
    4. The first MG 2.0 was technically the Mk. II, so its not "ALWAYS" the RX-78-2, just, most of the time.

      Delete
    5. Actually the first PG was an Evangelion unit, if we want to get completely technical. Makes me think we'll potentially see a change in the roster

      Delete
    6. if so, then we should have higher expectations of this "new line" since the Master Grade RX-78-2 3.0 is already the "1/100 RG" people are talkin bout. and i can't think of anything better than that.

      Delete
  28. Am I the only one still thinkinhg about g no reconguista. Maybe they will start with the main unit from g no reconguista

    ReplyDelete
  29. NO! no more added details! I like gunpla plain without those silly lines and be anime accurate. Boooo dtails sucks. If these come out I will just buy pla plates and shape them like a box and stare at it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You're really against high detail? Like.. what? I don't even.. what?

      ...what?

      Delete
    2. I think I understand what he means. I think high detail is cool but with an iconic mobile suit like the sazabi adding in detail and a psycho frame that was never in the anime, seems very disapointing to anyone who wanted THE sazabi updated instead of what ifed.

      Delete
    3. i think he is saying...what?

      Delete
    4. Nope, this is trying t point out those people who are against more detail. I think he is trying to make fun of those idiot people who wants plain and boring super anime accurate cartoonish kits. For example they want the RX78 to look exactly like its 80's counterpart. No detail, no nothing. As a modeler of mechas, not anime, I find those people stupid too,

      Delete
  30. Why is everyone suggesting they'll put it above Master Grades? That makes no sense, MGs are already super expensive in a tough economy. I'm betting it'll either be officially giving a "real" name to 1/100 no grades, or something more akin to an action figure (eg more durable).

    ReplyDelete
  31. im just RG collector

    ReplyDelete
  32. 1/100 Real Grades with no inner frame. That's what I'm betting. If so, at the very least I hope we get previously unreleased mobile suits.

    ReplyDelete
  33. inb4 Really Real Grade

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have a feeling that they will either announce that they will continue the MG 3.0 line or make a new line for MG (like Ver Ka or EW) with details seen on the RX-78-2 3.0, Nu Ver Ka, and Sazabi Ver Ka.

    ReplyDelete
  35. What happened to MG AGE-3 and MG AGE-FX? Where are they now?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Trust me their planning to use RG designs on MGs since some RGs look better than their MG counterpart. Remember RX-78-2 ver 3? it looks like a 1/100 RG ver

and yup I expect this will be expensive...

RX-78-2 and MS-06S will probably be the first in the line

  57. I wish RE/100 grade will not be as good as MG. But i am sure there will be more future MG model receive similar treatment like RG. We gunpla builder demand more details than before.

Check this out - more on RE/100
    http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Reborn-One_Hundred

RE/100 model refer to revival of the 1/100 No Grade model kits without any inner frame....kinda disappointed. I love inner frame which bring out realism and mechanical feature of real gundam separate it from cartoon looking.
