  1. Only the Hi-Nu was a surprise since it isn't a December kit and I'm curious what we will get in that month. The new RE line isn't special enough for me, maybe that's because I don't like the Nightingale. They should have started with one or two "normal" models instead of that deformed beast.

  2. The highlight for me is the strong future lineup of the HGs :)
I don't really care for the souped up HG 1/100 or MG Hi-Nu or the bloated Neo-Zeong.

  3. No, I was pretty disappointed, I was expecting more MGs to be announced to make up for these last few months but at least the Hi-Nu was announced

  4. I have serious doubts about a PG Unicorn, but I hope my doubts are misplaced.

I would buy one in a heartbeat.

    1. Your doubts are almost certainly NOT misplaced. In my opinion there is no chance in hell. I'd love to be wrong but I really can't imagine any scenario in which I would be. I think all of the "rumors" have just been fanboy wet dreams going viral. As cool as the Unicorn is a PG version would most likely be a complete failure.

The most blatant problem is the one similarity of all of the Perfect Grade Gunpla kits: intricate inner frames. The Unicorn's psycho frame transformation doesn't lend itself to an inner frame.

The engineering costs to pull off a PG Unicorn would be extremely high. They've taken a couple of stabs at pulling off the transformation in the MG kits that if we are honest aren't good. They look cool but they are a flimsy mess. It's an awesome concept but not practical at all. Admittedly I have never touched the Metal Fix Unicorns so maybe they are better. But then again those are toys that don't have the same limitations of model kits.

Another issue would be size. All of the existing PG Gunpla have all been in the relatively same size/form factor. They have never attempted a large CCA era MS. If they were going to attempt one the Nu would be a much more logical choice as it is a very popular design and it would be a LOT easier to pull off since they wouldn't need to reinvent the wheel from their previous PG kits. With all that in mind they still have never attempted it.

When you factor all of this in a PG Unicorn could easily cost as much as all of the other PGs combined. There is a very good chance it would be hampered by all the design flaws that crippled the MG version. It's just a bad idea.

The ONLY way I could see them attempting a large scale Unicorn is if they did a non-transforming NG version.

    2. I think they would reveal [PG] Unicorn tomorrow, after the premiere of Episode 7.

    3. There's not going to be a PG Unicorn.

    4. Why wait for a premiere? They've had no qualms about publicizing the HGUC Neo Zeong for a while now. If anything the Neo Zeong should've been the one they kept secret until the premiere so they could keep it as a mystery to be shown in the episode.

    5. I don't know what's worse... people who start the rumors, people who fall into believing the rumors, or blogs like this one feeding and spreading the rumors. As much as I would love a PG Unicorn or a MG Kshatriya, there's no point in even discussing this until there's an official announcement...

  5. Of course I'm impressed. There's no way I can just sit here reading and say "oh so that's it", lol. Some amazing new kits made debut there, I wished I went there myself.

  6. I am happy with the kits which were announced, especially the hi-nu, but the lack of MG announcements in general has greatly disappointed me.

  7. Im just happy that we may get more kits from the 1/100 line

  8. Best announcements ever. A Nightingale kit after all those years waiting? Plus Hi-Nu Ver. Ka as a bonus, leaving December open to another Ver. Ka release (V2 would just make this year the best Gunpla year along with a PG Unicorn release).

  9. The gimmick is PROBABLY gonna be the jets on the back being arms.

  10. My feels have been pretty mixed about the announcements. The new 1/100 line is probably the most controversial, and with good reason. They chose some slightly less well known and less than 100% canon (non-animated) mobile suits. This could mean we might see less popular mobile suits such as the Efreet, Delta Gundam and F90 (It also be reasonable to keep your hopes up for a 1/100 Kshatriya now if they made the Nightingale, which is even bigger).

  12. I was impressed with that new RE line and the MG Hi-Nu, but the lack of MG's coming out recently is disappointing

  13. At first I was happy for the new RE 1/100, then I noticed how similar the Nightingale is to a NG/HG in terms of details, and the hype died.

As others said, the lack of legit MG releases was very disappointing - reworked Hi-Nu and the online exclusives won't change that we skipped two months' worth of regular Master Grade.

By the way, if June's release is Turn-X and August's one is Hi-Nu... are we skipping July?

  14. The RE line was certainly surprising and exciting as well. From what conclusions I've made based on the photos, the pricing and my imagination, it seems like the RE line will be dedicated to releasing less famous kits with a smaller attention to detail 4than a MG release. It makes sense, business wise, for Bandai because a sub-MG line requires lower up-front costs from the lack of internal frame and engineering. I don't know if this is the case but I'm guessing. They can use this line to extract money from fringe fans who really like peculiar designs but aren't willing to shell out the money for resin kits or are uninterested in the P-Bandai variations of existing MGs. I'm quite happy about this line because they might release some of the more unconventional designs (think anything from the Turn A and Victory series, some of the wilder Zeon and Neo-Zeon designs, etc.) at a manageable cost. I don't think I'll get the Nightingale or GP04 but I'm really keen on the Mk-III. I'm excited to see what's on the horizon for this line.

As for the MG announcements, I'm personally growing weary of yet another Nu/Hi-Nu kit, so I will be passing on this one. For me this is a blessing. I can focus on catching up on some older MG releases and the imminent Turn X. I only have so much spare time and money, so it's good that Bandai doesn't release a kit marketed specifically for me every single month.

I can't comment on the HG announcements because I can't find any! Perhaps that may be because I didn't come across any of the news stories about them.

This has been an interesting gunpla news cycle.

  15. I'm...ok...I really like the Hi-Nu ver. Ka as I'm not fond of the proportions of the old MG, as good as a kit it actually is.

I'm ambivalent about the new RE line. On one hand, yay GP-04! I also like the Nightingale but it's true that they're a bit under-detailed. Even not being MG, I would have liked a little bit more. I might not spend a lot of money on this new line, since at that point, I'd rather spend my dime on a superior MG.

One announcement that's somewhat related is Gunpla Build Fighters getting a season 2! This means we'll get more HG kits! We've already been through the all Gundam project; which mobile suit is next in line? Are we going to get more non-UC MS? I can't wait to find out!

  16. I have mixed feelings on the RE line. I only collect 1/100 but at the same time, it looks like a rehash of the HG line and I am not a fan of hollow parts. It's nice I wouldn't have to paint anything so that's another plus. If they produce more MS I like such as the Delta Kai, I'll be on board.

As for MG's, I'm flat out disappointed. Yeah, Hi-Nu is here and in August..for some reason but seems a bit too squat for my taste. Pfft, online exclusives of old MG's definitely do not help and they don't count, to me. This year has not been good to MG. Give us Age3 and FX!!!

  17. re 1/100 im bit dissapointed because of the mg list i hoped evolve to this hg style i hated the price of Nightingale i will just wait the mg ver of this or wait the advance of zeta if they make an mg kit of it just without polycap just a high quality abs joints
