  1. The A1 and C1 have always been my favorites! I'm stoked for the A1 and hoping they'll take the easy cash and make the C1 HGUC too.

    1. Is this thing really good? Pardon me but I see nothing special with this kit design. honest (no troll).
I'm hoping for non-troll answer too..

    2. I'm late, but people love the zeta, so this design may appeal to those who are fans...that and an old matergrade was in Armaro ray "test colors" so its kinda iconic.

So another version in those colors may come, clearly this will be a parts former but its for zeta design lovers.

    3. For many people, myself included, the announcement of this Zeta Plus indicates that Sentinel may finally get some more extensive HGUC treatment. With the Zeta Plus A1 announced and Doven Wolf already out, what's to stop Bandai from cranking out the Gundam Mk. V? What about other Sentinel designs? It's all very exciting.

I also happen to absolutely love the designs in the entire Zeta Plus series. It's early Katoki at his finest, really. The Zeta Plus is a deceptively simple, modular, believable design that's really stood the test of time. It's not flashy, it doesn't need to be stacked with accessory upon accessory to look cool (and any accessory-stacking we do see is totally appropriate to design functionality) and it's really well engineered. It's just plain awesome!

If you're not already familiar, I highly recommend you check out all of Katoki's design work in the excellent photo novel series Gundam Sentinel. I've found GearsOnline to be endlessly helpful and fun to gawk at: http://gearsonline.net/series/gundam/sentinel/

    4. Itd be nice except sentinel designed mechas aren't owned by Bandai which is why we get the A1 design which is .

  5. THANK YOU BANDAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now all we have to wonder about is if it's going to transform without any parts-forming. Either way, I'm REALLY happy for this release!

    1. I'm pretty sure it's gonna parts-form. There's a picture of a parts-forming core brick above... How I wish tech would progress so that parts forming wouldn't be a thing anymore. :(

    2. You know the Nightmare that is the RG Zeta Gundam?

      Delete
    3. Parts-forming may not be as cool as a fully transforming model but you have to remember that more transformation = more movement = more wear and tear on the parts.

  6. YES. And I want revision of HGUC S/Ex-S.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, S/EX-S really needs an updated HGUC kit, the old kits have bad articulation and a really flimsy structure, If only Bandai would put S/Ex-S as part of the All gundam project. The only reason why Sentinel doesn't get much love is because a third party own the rights to Sentinel stuff and Bandai would need to do a lot of negotiating with them.

  7. This. This is big.

I really quite like that the "Unicorn Ver." colors are actually just the standard mass-production colors from Sentinel, and not some silly new palate of earth tones as has been the trend in these Unicorn updates. It's the same as the C1 color scheme, as I understand it. In fact, I think the only thing keeping this from being a true-to-form Sentinel kit is the use of ReZEL's beam rifle.

Also! Calling it now: I see a seam line running down the length of the calf/leg. Perfect for the orange-on-white Amuro test model color scheme!

I've waited years for this. I can hardly contain.

EDIT: Gah! Accidentally deleted my first post. Didn't realize you can't go back and fix typos.

    1. And next what we need is Hyaku Shiki's beam riffle and Amuro's A insignia to make Zeta Plus A1 Amuro ver.

    Shit, why i said that ? -_-

  13. It can actually move its ankles??

    ReplyDelete
  14. Wait, the Zeta Plus is going to be in Unicorn? That's news.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I will definitly buy this if it can transform without too much part movement

    ReplyDelete
  16. Well, this is a spoiler for Unicorn episode 7 but I'm still looking forward to it!

  18. I was planning to lay off gunpla for a couple of years as soon as I get the Norn Destroy, and then Bandai decides to churn out a variant of my second favorite Mobile suit. Why do you do this Bandai?!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. wait... will there be atmospheric battle in the next unicorn episode? i was expecting a zeta plus c1 or any of its variants should be used instead.

  21. gasp! it can actually move its ankles?????

  22. Hope that uses parts for the arms as HGAC Wing Gundam/Zero: Ball Joint connection on the torso but that kinda weird yet awesome piece used on Wing. It would be very customizable

  23. I don't know why would anyone buy the HG version when the MG version is really good and cost the same. HLJ has it on sale for $24 http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN905569/Gun

I bought mine years ago for 30 at the time.

    1. No one cares and that kit is cool, sure but it's incredibly dated. Besides, some people actually collect HG's *gasp!*

      Delete
    2. That's neat and all, but I almost exclusively get 1/144 scale kits, so it's not really of any use to my collection.

      Delete
    3. even i already have the mg still want this hg, the mg its kinda outdated although its not that bad, its lack of innerframe, no waist joint and no standbase connector, the good side, the transformation its more simple than recent transformable mg.

      Delete
    4. No innerframe, waist joint and standbase connector? And HG version has all that?? Maybe the base connector, but it is no where close to the MG version. Besides some arm and upper leg innerframe, MG Zeta Plus's structure, transformation, and articulation are on par with Zeta Gundam Version 2.0. Unless you only collect 1/144 scale, no point pay the same price for a lesser kit.

    5. "Unless you only collect 1/144 scale, no point pay the same price for a lesser kit."

Think that's what everyone's saying here, bud. Some people collect HGs, some people MGs, some people both. Hell, I love the Zeta Plus so much, I can see why someone would want both. I mean, I don't want to reduce this to a comparison, here. MGs always have been and always will be superior to HGs, that much is obvious.

    6. @anon 644
hg zeta plus may have waist joint and added thigh joint.

  24. it is just chilling in ep 7, already in the first 7 mins. Have both MG vers and Hummingbird from GFFMC and they are still solid. High price for MG because of partfoming brick taking up tons of plastic? It is 200 yens higher than HGUC delta plus

  25. Screw the watermark. Hope gginfinite folds up.

  26. I hope the white parts are color accurate. I count only eight pieces that have to be it. Its difficult to get decent white paint that doesn't run.

    ReplyDelete
  27. This means that it's only a matter of time until we get the red one.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I will use my S Gundam's beam smart gun to make it into a ZetaPlus C1 custom

    1. Me, I'll try to give it the Delta Kai's rifle and funnels, but use a classic color scheme instead.

  31. Wow. Bandai messed up big time on the mold.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Has Bandai ever recalled kits before?
I remember that I got the exclusive MG Age-1 Normal Unit 2 and apparently they screwed up on a part so they included like another small, plain white box and inside had the corrected pieces.

A bit disappointing that Bandai had to recall for messing up in the molding process. Maybe it's time for Bandai to slow down with GunPla releases to keep these errors in check?

...and to think they messed up on their beloved HGUC line...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Since recall, probably issue new runners to replace two parts for customers who bought them already for free.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Why is the recall not under its own page?

    ReplyDelete
  35. This is why I don't buy HGs. It's better to buy a Daban MG than a Bandai HG.

    3. This is one mistake out of how many models? Over just general crap quality from a knock off, and the mistake ain't even bad

  36. The box art shows the defective front skirt. Does that mean that they have to shange the box art?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I noticed that also. If they were to change it, that would probably increase the value of the first production in a few years from now.

      Delete
  37. If you look at the box art more closely, you will notice the MA mode has the correct waist piece.
My theory is that Bandai was already aware of the waist problem before the release so they changed the box art to go along with it.
They didn't expect the problem on head and it's noticeable even to the normal buyers who don't know any better. That's why they had to recall the product before the sale tanks.

    Just my 2 cents

  38. "Japan Customers Only"....
it's the ONLY thing that i hate about Bandai...
with this kind of blunder, they ought to consider INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT..

    ReplyDelete
  39. @derkaizer

The item was recalled from all international stores before it even reached stores. This is a non issue unless you imported the item from a jp store
