Agreed, colors don't hurt my eyes, the thing can still move, and not much of those (IMO) horrible micro details. The extended torso is not to my taste but that's just me.
BTW, I see a few nub marks here and there but TBH, this is still better than having random details that make it look like the model has a thousand nub marks (yeah, I really hate over-detailed models)
are you guys idiots? seriously? you can't differentiate a poorly done work from a decent one? look at those horrible seam lines. those nub marks on the chest. the sand marks. and that awful proportions. you guys are the reason why filipinos never improved.
Better pictures were only available after an update. So yeah, those things weren't as visible earlier.
Anyways, while craftsmanship is lacking, it's still better conceptually compared to those big over-detailed builds. IMO, it's easier to improve modeling skills than to develop creativity and imagination.
Nub marks all over the place, sloppy stickers, pretty ugly extended torso solution... This looks like a pro work given to a 10 year old kid to finish up with cheap out-of-the-can paint and random stickers. An idea overall is interesting and inspiring but thin Exia style mid torso just looks out of place. And while the detail on arms look amazing, the rest is pure crap. I could paint my dog in gold, add a commander antenna and not feed it for a week so that it has that thin waist and it still would look better than this. Of course that's just me but seriously, you have to be blind to say "this is one of the best builds I've seen in a while!". Eye transplant anyone? Regards
I'm really impressed by this work, one of the best entries in GBWC PH.
It's a fresh breath of creativity seeing works like this one aside from the monstrous and overly weaponized entries that we've been seeing for the the past couple of years.
Seeing that this work of art was Tyrael inspired, I was hoping that the creator should've made the diorama resemble the high heavens instead of the usual hangar, So Amir, i'll be looking forward to your next work :D
there are some nub marks, but it does have a decent finish. indeed, the judges look too much on the effort/skill (eg. the winning cluttered kit) side rather than the overall visual impact. But maybe it's not their fault - maybe the percentage of the scoring mechanics is not balanced at all.
Cool work on the spine, love the colors, and I like the elegant simplicity. As for some cons, I see some nub marks on the shoulders and some parts of the chest. I think the long torso makes the kit look a little unbalanced but it reminds of Gundam Virsago.
Simple and clean build and paint. Not overly complicated but not so easily done either. Could have used an additional shade of yellow or gold on some parts to give it a bit more color distinction but that's just something optional. I believe that the overall coloration is doing it's job well already. The extra waist height is rather awkward but I guess it's not bad...
Yes the paint job is clean, but if you look closely, this guys used bionicle parts to create the wing like protrusions. I am assuming this guy used bionicles parts for the torso and the sword. This is not something I can endorse. Usage of a product foreign from bandai will immediately disqualify this entry since it does not follow GBWC rules. Use of such products do not count as scratch build or modifications since he was using something premade. I can only shake my head in shame at this.
I admit to the bionicle parts. But the sword and torso extensions are absolutely bandai. Id love to enumerate them to you. Could you kindly show a link wherein gbwc prohibits use of parts outside of bandai? Because id love to point fingers on peoplewho use kotobukita mechanical bases.
About the waist - most pictures were taken from an angle above. Im working on the front view pictures now. It should be in GG in a couple of days -amir
Oh! And id really love to point fingers to people who use kotobukiya modelling support goods. All those tiny screws and exhausts, metal thrusters etc. -amir
Kevin doesn't know what he is talking about. The only rule that the gbwc has that is even close too what he is suggesting. Is their rule on conversion kit. Bandai b-club conversions are allow no recasts of thr original and 3rd party conversions of no existing bandai kits are allowed if you modify the conversion kit. They are very strick when it comes too conversion kits. As for using the bionicle it is allowed just like all the kits over the years that have used kotobukita parts and weapons. This is info I received from someone that was involved with putting on gbwc.
For all you Filipinos out there.. See no one is bashing the kit because it is good. Not some clusterfuck abomination that is imagined by an elementary kid.
If I should nitpick.. You should've painted the psychoframe on the shield. Otherwise mighty fine job you did there
OK, there are a lot of nub marks, but your work still looks awesome to me, I like the concept. Plus, nice use of the Noir swords, makes me want to use my own Noir swords for something else.
The slender body really turn off, its like girl with big boobs and sex thigh but have very skinny abdomen. Just imagine that. I know what the modellers want to deliver but there is something not right and unpleasant. Also nub mark is everywhere
I can do without the Virsago gimmick and the too thin waist. Other than that, I like this. Looks great on an action base and I like that sword accessory.
for me, the creativity was there..the color scheme also nice but i saw a lot of nub marks...i guess if he put a little effort on that nub marks sure this model will be great!! sorry for my bad english
Everything about this build screams awesome. Love the colors and the modifications except for one.... I'm not a fan of the extended torso and chest. I mean yeah it looks awesome, but it stretches him out too much that he doesn't look right. I mean I notice other people have noticed this too and maybe it's just nitpicking, but yeah that's my only complaint about the kit and if it were available for purchase I'd be interested in purchasing it cause the colors just look so awesome on it.
Most decent entree from the Phililppines so far.

DeleteI'm actually torn between this entry and the sinanju/ sinanju stein Kamen Rider W inspired entry as my favorite entry for this year's GBWC PH

The gold color didn't get any justice in this lighting for the pictures...
ReplyDeleteI agree, seeing it up close and personal was way better than the pictures provided.
Deleteno frontal pictures?
ReplyDeletethis reminds me of tyrael from diablo. awesome work
no, only full frontal pictures!
DeleteD:
I'm surprised something decent came out of that godawful Philippines contest...

ReplyDeletecongrats, more awesome works to come :D
DeleteLooks great but not a fan of the extended torso
ReplyDeleteawesome. this is AWESOME dude. keep it up.
ReplyDeleteBTW if I was the judge I'll make this the winner, eheh.

ReplyDeletetoo bad...
Deletedidn't know it used non Bandai parts here... minus the waist thing, this would have been a nice custom..

Delete^Actually, yeah, disqualifying this means everyone who used MSG, wave, and other goods should be disqualified as well.
Delete^thanks anon. I asked one 2013 gbwc judge (not from ph) he said
Delete"Never heard of such rules"
-amir

ReplyDeleteAnybody notice the LEGO piece?
ReplyDeleteI can't see it, can you tell me which part has it?
DeleteCool works i love the colors, and looks so elegant. but i don't know why i don't like the stomach..... the proportions looks weird

ReplyDeleteSo many nub marks, but It is to be expected since pinoys are lazy
ReplyDeleteSOOO SHINY
ReplyDeletethat torso is really ugly and too big
