2-3 base coat with Chrome Silver then 1-2 coat of Clear red then Flat for Top coat, it should work for the red parts. White parts are probably painted by Gloss Alluminium then Flat, and the yellows parts are painted by the base coat of Chrome silver and next is Chrome Yellow then top coat. the pistol can be chrome silver with clear on top. Just judging by the color.
Hi. I just got my own MG Astray Red Frame for Christmas, and I want to duplicate this color scheme. Is it possible using only Tamiya spray paints? They are the only ones available here.
I wonder how to painted like this. Wonderful
ReplyDeleteI think metallic paint and some gloss.
DeleteNo, you must use Enamel paint and flat coat it. Duh...
DeleteI think it's Chrome and you're done.

ReplyDeleteSo how about the body parts(black),what colour and steps he using with that effect?
DeleteProbably a light coat or two of gloss black on a base coat of chrome silver.
DeleteMetallic black has the same effect. In achieving the same result, I often use lacquer spray paint which is a metallic gloss black.
