summer amusement event

The Minna no Evangelion Fan blog posted images of the
18.5-meter (61-foot) long figure of the Neon Genesis Evangelion character Rei
Ayanami on Wednesday. A team built and inflated the figure outside of the NTV
Tower in the Shiodome area of Tokyo as part of the "Shiohaku Expo
2012" summer amusement event. The figure features a slide (pictured at
right) that attendees can slide down during the event.
The event will offer an exclusive clear file with an
image of the figure for 300 yen (about US$4), two kinds of Evangelion postcards
for 150 yen (US$2), and a Shiohaku hand towel for 500 yen (US$6). Shiohaku Expo
2012 runs from July 25 through August 26 and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. daily.
A third branch of the Evangelion Store is also opening in
the nearby NTV company building to offer limited-edition merchandise.
By comparison, the life-sizeGundam currently standing in
front of the Gundam Front Tokyo at Diver City Tokyo stands at 18 meters (59
feet) tall.

I wonder what kind of otaku would use that slider in front of hundreds of visitor...
ReplyDeleteWhether it's a blow-up slide of Rei Ayanami or not. Or call me an otaku for going on it. A slide is a slide and I'm going down it.
ReplyDeleteThis slide looks really awkward...maybe its the placement.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably too much walking to get to the top of the slide for your average otaku.
ReplyDeleteGiant Rei = Death
ReplyDeleteI dunno. The last time a giant Rei appeared, we all became primordial soup
ReplyDeleteis it just me or rei boobs looks rather small ?
