  4. Considering who was piloting that Vagan suit, more dakka was probably needed.

  5. Well the captin looks lIke she has no idea what she is doing.

  6. As a anime aimed at Children. They shouldn't have shown how the civilian got vaporized.

    1. Are you fucking serious? You don't have the slightest idea of how anime in japan works fo you?

      Delete
    2. Yes, I'm serious. And I think I know how Japan anime works, especially how Gundam and Tomino work.

      But what's inappropriate, is inappropriate.

    3. You know... Detective Conan is considered a childrens show and look: it even shows how people get STABBED, SHOT, HANGED, etc. in every episode. Japan is pretty tolerant towards such things. And why not show how people get pulvarized by a beam weapon? I think it's right for kids to see what wars realy are about, that random common people realy get killed in the process. That they don't just magicaly dissappear or run away from the fighting and survive.

    4. The Anonymous is completely right. Especially considering that Japan has suffered two devastating atomic bomb attacks, it's not surprising that the anime industry is open and more than willing to show even children the cruelty of war, one notable example being Barefoot Gen, which portrays the atomic bomb disaster in a gruelsome and realistic way. This is one of the things that mark a big difference anime has from the Western cartoons.

    5. It's not even about atomic explosions or anything. It's just that Japanese are more open to free expression. And Japanese are more matured and better at handling these "violent or inappropriate" scenes. Which contradicted our belief of free expression through art. Just think about it, could it be possible to end up with 0 causalities in any war or military conflict? Literally nobodies even gets a scratch from giant robots raging around town and shoot beams? No offense, but if this is what you believe should be showed on TV, go watch my little pony or something for toddlers.

    6. well, one thing for sure, I won't let my children watch this series :)

    7. In my point of view, being devastated in previous war, doesn't mean that we can easily spoil children. Ya, Japanese children maybe open enough to free expression. But Gundam is not only enjoyed by Japanese children, there are other countries watching it too. And I believe there are still people conservative enough to regard it as violent.

Life perishes in war, and maybe I'm conservative too, but cruel things are still meant to be cruel, and a anime can be fine by not portraying them. The anime can be meant to show other values instead of the so-called "inappropriate" scenes. And I found Flit to be overwhelming by hatred towards Veigan. You may say this is normal due to his experience, but children watching it, may end up becoming a misanthropic.

    8. Their pov are different from yours, and we can't impose our pov 'cause it's show for Japanese audience to begin with, not for outside Japan. What we can do is just watching and enjoy it, nothing else.

    9. hmm.. you know that Gundam depicts WAR! and guess what people Die in war in various ways.. from inocent bystanders to soldiers... If you feel that Gundam is to much for your children.. don't let them watch it! Be A Parent! don't just sit the kid in front of the tv and let it babysit! sheesh.. either that or watch it with your kids and explain any questions they have.. have the conversation about death and war.. say that people die.. that they don't reset like a game.. that war and geting shot are Not fun.. .... .. rant end..

    10. It's true Japanese children are believed to be able to handle mature topics, but I do believe the atomic blast also contributed to their understanding of the cruelty of war. That aside, I am still mad at the United States (and possibly also Chinese and Taiwanese) pop culture's regressive and reactionary nature, the term "inappropriate for children" being one big fat example, easily depraving children a chance to open their eyes to reality and freedom to think. It's why I think most cartoons are nothing but saccharine propaganda to keep children under the illusion of being in a happy world like those Little Sisters in Bioshock.

  7. Nice episode. nothing to complain so far.

Fortress already in the next episode? Yay!!
And it seems there it´s a homage to Seed with the desert fight.

    1. Original Gundam had a dessert fight too you know...

    2. You stupid fucking moron. 0079 and ZZ both had desert arcs first, which is what seed "homaged"

      Delete
    3. Didn't every series have a dessert fight/arc (00, destiny and unicorn had it too)

      Delete
    4. All Gundam fight must have Dessert, Sea, Urban, Sky Combat, & most important of all Space Colony & Space fight that end with Super Weapon equivalent of Death Star fight.

    5. LC2, if this were FB, I would like your comment 1000 times over. Speaking of Gundam series requirements, is the "Main antagonist has some relation to protagonist love interest" one becoming less common?

  11. So for people that have been following this series, how does this rank among other good gundam series: like Zeta and Wing?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Wayyyyyy better than Seed and wing. About the same as G and X and most other UC shows. Slightly under MSG and Zeta. Not as good as any UC OVA though but thats unfair to judge against.

    2. Age is terrible. MS designs aside. I never talk about MS designs since they're always fresh and new. But I feel the three generations really interrupted the flow for me. I can't remember who is who, I barely had time to feel for the characters. I know Seed is hated a lot, but it allowed you to feel with the characters, at the end of Seed, and even destiny, you felt you knew them. But in Age it's just stupid. And that awful Vegan MS sound, with their eyes or w/e lighting up. It's getting really old. purururururururt. Every freakin time. That pissed me off. What's up with the names? Urine, Einus? Are they joking?
The animation is getting slightly better as we move on, but it's just the characters and the story. So anti climactic. I was hoping to see a bad ass Flit vs Desil, or even Zeheart vs Asemu, ,but we got nothing. I didn't even care that much for Wolf dying. It's not like Mwu or Lockon's death.
Who the hell was that stupid mechanic chic that died, what a bore. They make arguments and themes, but they don't defend it properly. And when in doubt just throw more suits at thing, and the savior Gundam will save the day. Oooooo look it's a Gundam.
Get real. That's what I hate about watching kid's shows. u like them for the Gundams, but end up hating them for their bullshit. Thank heavens for Unicorn 5 coming out.
Wing was Wing, no one knew what hell was going on with all the factions, but it was epic.

Age had potential I give you that, but way too many characters and different plot lines to even give a fly.

I understand Age has its goal of keeping things happy and dandy for child viewers, and I will respect that, and that's why this comment is not 3 pages long.

    3. Age series hasn't ended yet, so you shouldn't rank it based on just 30 ep.
Wait until final episode than we can decide whether this series is worthed enough as Wing & Zeta.

      @Bud (Junior Mint) Maloney
Relax my friend, I feel the same. But it's only 20 or so episodes to go. Better watch it till the end. :)

    4. true that, I'll wait till it's over, who knows they might pull a Loni

    5. "What's up with the names? Urine, Einus? Are they joking?"

Then, are Quattro Vageena's name are not ridiculous too? Is Tomino make a joke too? It's normal things that naming sense in Gundam are weird and sometime ridiculous because Tomino are started it anyway

    6. hey guys just chill, no need for internet war here XD. I'm just wondering how this rank up to the other series. I have to admit I'm a Wing sucker because it was the first one that I watched. However I have serious doubt that any series that doesn't show any significant impact around half way through its life cycle would make any major impact. I like how someone drew the comparison for the first Lockon's death, I felt like there's something lost with his death. (Until the 2nd season came in and ruined his epicness). Lol conclusion, probably won't watch it because missing school for a mediocre series is pointless.

  12. i feel that this is definitely better than seed... they did re use the scene of sending out vegan troops like 2 times LOL anyways i think its pretty good i like it as much as wing and 00 my 2 fav series of all time haha but, i feel like they mad this story line for each story too short age 2 was too short wish they didnt rush it

    1. ^ Yeah I'm kinda pissed that AGE 2 is short & time skip a lot.

Never quite understood why can't they do full season 25 Episode of AGE 2 arc if they have a lot of story to tell.

  15. I'm surprised no one has commented on Kio's super X-Rounder vision or w/e it was.

He saw what Zehart was going to do like WAY ahead of time. Even Flit was like WTF.

Just a wild conspiracy theory though, since the Vegans also have a gundam

    ReplyDelete
  17. Natora Einus, I think I know why their family name's so famous. ;)

Anyways, these guys seem to like copying their mentors so much they start to look like 'em.

    Flit > Grodek
    Asemu > Woolf (Clothes)
    Obright > Woolf (Burns)
    Algreus > Flit (Stache)
