more than likely dipping the chromed parts in a thinning solution to devolve the paint, however, I dont see the point in paying so much money for a chrome plated kit, just to strip it, and repaint it in flat gold, it just defies the point to me, but what ever.
I think it's because to some people (including myslef), the chrome finish is just too glossy! the gloss removes the deatil and the light really does ruin any chance of your hard work truly being displayed. I really must admit, this is a very fine example of a Delta, and also of a modellers ingenuity!
