Congratulations to Clement Eng for being selected as the 2011 N. American GBWC representative! Clement, also known as Gamera Baenre is a seasoned GunPla builder who also takes time to show new gundam modelers tips and techniques through video turtorials and on site-demonstrations at various events. He and his GunPla loving friends started a local group called ThoseGundamGuys which recently hosted a local GunPla competition in Southern California that boasted over 88 entries! Clement will be flown to Hong Kong to compete in the GBWC Finals against the best of the best from Singapore, China, Malaysia, Austrialia, Japan, Korea, Phillippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Italy, Indonesia, and Thailand. Competition was fierce in N. America as 5 regional events held in Seattle, San Jose, Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore, and New York all fielded an excellent number of highly skilled gundam modelers. The winning entry of each event was then pitted against the others by a Bandai judging panel consisting of
- Mr.Kawaguchi: A famous professional modeler in Asia, appears in magazines frequently.
- Mr.Fukuchi: Product development at Bandai Hobby Center.
- Mrs. Matsuoka: MG Product development in Bandai Hobby Center
- Mr.Kojima: Sales & Marketing for North America in Bandai Hobby Dept.
Congratulations to Mike Chan (Sakura Con), Benny Herara (Anime Central), Kevin Nguyen (Fanime), George Caswell (Otakon), and Robert Crockett (NYCC) for being the Best of Show for your resepective areas!
