Amongst the new title announcements was information on the Mobile Suit Gundam AGE game.
Hino himself is lead scriptwriter for the television series, which premiered October 9th. A PlayStation Portable RPG from Level-5 was announced for summer 2011.
Producer Ryo Mito of Namco Bandai Games, taking the stage, commented that the goal of Gundam AGE was to fascinate a new generation of children with a new world of Gundam. A variety of plans are in the works for both the game and the anime projects, intended to appeal to a wide age range of nontraditional fans.
With Mito's mention that the Gundam AGE game is also a step away from previous titles, Hino chimes in with his hopes for the title, a serious RPG adaption.
Next are Executive Producer Yasuo Miyakawa and Planning Producer Shin Sasaki from Sunrise, who comment on the beginnings of Gundam AGE and the anime production.
Next are Executive Producer Yasuo Miyakawa and Planning Producer Shin Sasaki from Sunrise, who comment on the beginnings of Gundam AGE and the anime production.
Miyakawa recounts how, while the original plan was to collaborate with a novelist like Gundam UC's Harutoshi Fukui, events led to meeting Hino and working with him and Level-5 due to their focus on titles which can appeal to a broad age range.
Hino's first planning documents, mentioning "100 years" and "three generations", were as much of a challenge as planning mobile suits and characters for three separate series, but it was a challenge he was glad to accept.
Next, Sasaki. spoke of the hours he spent weekly in intense debate with Hino hammering out the exact nuances of the plot.
He would like to see new viewers drawn to the franchise by Gundam AGE who come to think of it as "my first Gundam."You can watch the newest trailer from the event here!
