The thing in the right hand is actually a laser targeting system for another Zaku who's armed with a Xamel cannon. I'm sure GG will get round to scanning the other Zaku shortly - it has some awesome treads on one leg to keep it in place when it fires. (I also have the Phantom Bullets book being a big 0083 fan)
The weapon in the right hand appears to be spliced into the cooling hoses on the Z's head. Perhaps to power the weapon somehow?
