First, yes I am still working on my customize Astraea Gundam. It has not been going well at all. This has got to be the most problematic project I've ever built. The kit itself, or even the mods itself is not that bad. It is the bad luck that I am having that is causing me big headaches and much inner anger.
So I took a lot of time to add further detail to the kit, and also did quite a bit of masking in preparation for the painting phase, only to be halted due to extreme hot weather in LA duirng the past few weeks (I airbrush in my backyard, cuz I don't wanna die from all the fume). This week I finally get to start painting.....and it was going all so well. Until today......when the wind knocked over my newly painted parts, which also knock over a bottle of paint that was uncapped. As you can imagine, painted parts falling on top of spilled paint does not equal to good news. Oh I am so angry just thinking about it. So now I will need to spend a bit of time to sand off all the damaged parts, and repaint them..... most of them are from the upper torso. But at least you can get a glimpse of a 80% percent painted legs (see below). As you might noticed...my paint scheme is akin to the Vardant (Linebarrel), which I recently enjoyed looking at.
Secondly.... since the Astraea kit came with 2 heads, I am currently heavily modding the second head to make it look a bit like a GM's head. You can also see from the picture below the progress on that, and this head will also be an accessory head for my Astraea kit. Two heads is better than one. =)
Lastly, I am also in pre-building phase for both the GNX-III and the MG Sinanju. You have a glimpse on the GNX-III in the image below, but the Sinanju stuff is in my room. My gunpla building room is running out of space. Even though I am pretty late in starting the Sinanju Group Build Project, but at least I've begun.
Hope I can finish my Astraea soon. It really a matter of patience now...
Damn no wonder Im quickly reminded by LOI, Goodluck on the fix up though.
ReplyDeleteSo close. Remember, this gunpla stuff is supposed to be fun. I am well 'behind' on my Sinanju so don't worry. Take your time and wow us with the end result.
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see the finished peroduct.
ReplyDeletedid you ever make a post showing the finished Astrea? I don't seem to see it anywhere.
