  1. If this can get an MG release, why not the Akatsuki?

    1. Because 90% of this kit is made from recycled moulds that already exist and thus cost nothing to rehash?

    2. More like 95%. Only new parts are the V-fin and 3 head parts + the shields hardpoint..

    3. This kit looks like using foil sticker all around the body, lol.
      I'll pass.

mg Akatsuki is a welcome though.

  5. is this the same unicorn mold? no undergate?

  6. Why doesn't Bandai just undergate everything to avoid nub marks; not everyone is gonna become painters for their kits. Rather than having a kit with nubs marks that turn yellow in a year or two, make undergate ones. It's all done in AutoCAD anyways, why screw your customers over EVERYTIME!!!!

    1. cost and complexity, keep things simple, only undergate certain kits, we'd need to ask bandai themselves for a real answer..

whatever, pros will still paint this, i would too if i knew what to use to hand paint with

    2. Because under gating cost more too produce than standard gating does. Buy producing every Kit through under gating it would Screw the customers over every time.

    3. Undergating it would only cost more to do if you're revising a kit, if it's undergated when it's first designed it shouldn't cost any more than a normal kit.

    4. Anon 1017 pm here
@ anon 455 am. You are partly correct. Yes it would cost bandai more money to produce a under gated mold of a already existing Kit. But what you fail to see it what Anon 957pm and myself have stated. Under gated molds are more complex and expensive to produce. For some reason people think just because something is designed in a CAD program that it's easy and too make. But your wrong. They do a CAD design of the model once itis approved they then machine the mold followed by inspection. While it is being inspected a person files and sand any imperfections in the mold, tgen they polish every detail of the mold. By using under gated molds this will increase the time spent cleaning and finishing the molds costing Ron and money. Anyone that has ever did any kind of machining, fabrication, or carpentry would understand how much time and energy goes into a project and would understand things aren't so simple. Since you people think under gating should be used on all kits does that mean it should be used on a sd Kit. I believe a better question would why doesn't bandai just under gate any Kit that they plan on releasing a titanium or metallic finsh?

    5. Plastic injection involves complex fluid dynamics. Gates aren't randomly placed for convenience.

  7. According to the Bandai site it comes with Ver Ka waterslide decals, does anyone know how well they will work on the titanium finish? Mark setter/softer and top coat could damage the titanium finish, couldn't they...? I've never tried it before so a bit worried (and obviously don't have the kit yet so can't test it)
