This has got to be one of the ugliest Feddy suits ever. If not for the powers that be deciding to have it literally shred several Zeon suits single-handedly in one of the most badass moments ever to occur in Gundam, i doubt anyone would want it.
Don't misunderstand me. In general, as a mecha, I like the design. It just seems so out of place to me among Gundams, GMs, Jestas, Nemos, Jegans, etc. The first time i ever saw one, i mistook it for a kitbash someone made after too many Jaeger-Bombs.
Looking at the Hrairoo, and i'm assuming you mean the gaplant variant, not the RX-124, i can see a vague resemblence in the profile of the MS, in that the arms seem to be the main aspect of the design. That's it, at least for me. This thing is far more beastial and primitive looking. Plus, ESPECIALLY because of those fuel-tanks on the back, it looks like a drunken kitbash. Granted, the Hrairoo's arm cannons also impart a kitbashed look. Could you perhaps expand on your comment? It might garner a new appreciation for the suit from me.
i like byarlant standart too. Judge from design, yes you can say it is out of place. But remember, Byarlant was Titans mobile suit, part of Earth Federation too. One thing that make Byarlant bit unique is it not fall to Sleeves MS collection, not like Marasai. They (EFF) "kitbashing" it for slightly reduced Titans-esque feels on this suit, 'coz Titans are some of black history of EFF and they want to erase it (just like what they do with New Deside, only they had joined with AEUG instead for hunt them). Maybe if Byarlant fall to Sleeves, it will customized with sleeves ornament and insignia than change it body parts.
About tanks parts, i think it's a additional booster for increase Byarlant flying and maneuver performance. And Byarlant custom hand parts are more suitable for air raid purpose, just like it pilot do in ep 4 CMIIW
Well, speaking strictly in-canon, the Byarlant Custom is considered by it's designers to be a Chimaera, made up of bits and pieces of other Titans mobile suits... so i guess it's SUPPOSED to look like a kitbash XD
