The next Mobile Suit Gundam game for PlayStation 3 will be free. Famitsu announced Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation, which is being made by Gundam Memories developer B.B. Studio.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation is an online action game where you control Gundam in 6 on 6 battles. The goal is simple – crush your enemies. A screenshot shows a radar in the top right, multiple weapons to switch between, and text chat in the bottom left corner. Namco Bandai is planning for this title to be a deep game players can enjoy for a long time for free.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation will be released as a PlayStation Network download at the end of June. Between March 29 and 31, Details on how Namco Bandai plans on making a profit on Battle Operation were not announced.Famitsu has a blowout on Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation, a free to play downloadable Gundam game for PlayStation 3. This game is a six on six team Gundam game where you side with either the Federation or Zeon. While mobile suits are blasting each other with beam rifles, you can also run around on foot as a pilot. Pilots can sneak into enemy territory, place bombs, and blow up an opponent’s base. As a pilot, you get a rocket launcher to target kneecaps and can also repair mechs.
Winners receive parts to customize their mech and pilot after battle. Famitsu has screenshots of those, but do not say if Namco Bandai plans on selling additional parts as paid downloadable content. Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation goes live at the end of June when the game is available for PSN.

I confirm. Yesterday Andriasang also had these pictures and you could see the pilots fight to the ground. There are also voice and text Chat.

ReplyDeleteYou can clearly see that the suits are based off the newer designs (look at the zaku, it looks like a MG Zaku 2.0) compared to Bandai's old as shit models. (again, look at gundam senki zaku 2 and compare it to the old zaku MG)

I think the Zaku and Rx-78-2 looks a bit closer to their Rg counterparts

this better a get a fuck american release.i love the looks of it so far and is it just me or does seem to have a COD team deathmatch feel to it?
ReplyDeleteNot even close… more like warhawk/starhawk(third-person shooter) and it doesnt seem to need a killstreak to use… if any first person shooter its more like battlefield or that box game halo seems more closer to the teamdeath match comparison…Plus the size of maps would have to be bigger than COD's Nuff said

it just had alpha beta two months ago
and will have alpha beta 2 in May
it support 50 player vs 50 player,
the control,play mode or graphic detail are completely different with this "Battle operation"
really impressive, it would be cool if they add more MS + Maps overtime in patches like SD Gundam Capsule Fighter Online (which is free).

DeleteI got the game too. It's pretty good. It takes a while to get use to the controls, and there's no english menu. It's pretty simple at first, but it will get complicated once you start unlocking new MS's and want to switch to those, and understanding what the attachable items do if you can't read japanese.
