Gundam AGE Episode 4 - Summary & Images [Edited]

Gundam AGE Episode 4 Summary [Spoilers Below]:
After the collapse of Nora, the Federation battle cruiser Diva is headed for the colony 'Fardain'.  A Federation ace pilot Wolf Eniacl (a.k.a. White Wolf) wakes up from his sleeping chamber and meets with the crew of the Diva.  He challenges Flit to a mock battle between his Genoace Custom & the Gundam AGE-1 Normal.  Wolf shown extraordinary skills in combat during the mock battle, while Flit was able to stand toe to toe with Wolf using his (newtype?) power.  The mock battle was interrupted by the sudden appearance of the a Gafran (U.E. - Unknow Enemy), which turns out to be part of an heavily armed escort for a huge U.E. battleship in the area.  A skirmish with the U.E. mobile suits ensured... with both Wolf/Flit outnumbered by the U.E. units, but they were able to escape by using of the DOTS beam rifle to create a diversion.  The U.E. battleship leaves the area by vanishing through a stream of light.
An pretty cool episode that introduces the new character Wolf Eniacl 'White Wolf'
Flit's newtype power was effective againt the ace pilot White Wolf
One of the more interesting sequence in the episode was when the U.E. battleship left the battle area in a stream of bright light, similiar to how SDF-1 uses the faster-than-light space fold drive in the Macross series.  I thought this would be a link to the rumors of time traveling.  We had posted about the mystery of the U.E. early in the week (HERE).  But alas, it was only a cloaking device that keeps the ship from being detected.

  2. Just finished episode 4 and it occurred to me...

Woolf is supposed to be an ACE, right? However...if all the enemies that the Federation's been fighting all this time are the UE, and Flit is the first and only human to ever defeat one of them (thus far), then what's Woolf's claim to fame, then?

    Mock battles?

Remember that the Federation and the colonies have been at peace for quite a while now, so there's no way he could have been at any war judging by how young he is (23, according to the Gundam Wiki), and he's only known as being an MS racer. And he mentioned he just emerged from a healing sleep. Doesn't that imply that he got injured...perhaps got his ass kicked by the previously unbeatable enemies?

A loudmouth braggart who only excels in mock battles (and races) and got his ass kicked by the enemy? Stop me if that sounds familiar. I suppose his only claim to fame would be that he survived.

He has some smarts at least, but geez...

  3. The UE battle ship looks to me entering stealth mode rather than jumping into stream of light.. hm....

  4. Wolf reminds me of Monsha from 0083, Ace pilot, womanizer, cocky and full of himself, not to mention they both pilot custom versions of the mass produced suit of the time
