    2. Lol that's mean! Theres plenty of online tutorials to teach you the basics. Then just play around with the program till you get a feel for it.

Btw My favourite so far is the hand drawn one by Kyousakee.

  2. it's funny, but i get the feeling that an Optimus Prime (Gen 1) color scheme would work well for the Full Gransa...

Fenrir gets my vote by the way.

  3. Lol.. I never though someone make color scheme of Mr. Bushido

  4. That dark blue "Titansy" color scheme (by Juno~Uno) is pretty cool. It gets my vote.
Kind of fitting, seeing as since his generation's arc and up until the very end, Flit's character was very obsessed with vengeance (Jerid anyone?) and slipping in his status as a hero
adopting his perspective that total annihilation of the Vagan army/race was the solution to the war.

    2. Not only the color scheme, but the level of attention to detail is amazing as well. A very well polished and lovely piece of work! ~ <3

  9. What kinda of changes did you make Savvi? because I made a lot of big changes too, I hope I can enter it.

  10. Humm,, I'm working on my Sinanju right now, and I'm giving it a weird theme. I hope they will accept it, if not, then I'm just doing it for fun.

  11. Anh Le's Gransa is nicely done....but in a way, the overkill of added detail ruins the overall appearance IMO. It just looks really busy, but I guess judging by his Jesta entry, that seems to be his style.

  12. Thank you for the comment, I got the idea from the astray red frame standing on my desk. At first I thought it is a little bit over kill with all the details on the inner frame too, but it works for the astray, so I guess it might works here too. I want to focus on the orange armour and make it pop by contrasting lots of details on the other stuff. I want people first to see the orange armour, but when they come closer they can see all the other details. That is my idea, hope the effect does the work.

  13. G.G should remember that this is a color scheme contest, and the contestant should be judged by the color scheme they pick and not the details or the colorful BG they added.

  14. Yes this is a color scheme contest, that means the colors has to go well with each other. To me, different people have different taste of colors combinations. what if GG likes Green and black and pink, so he pick that one for the winner? so that's why the rules said, Color scheme, panel line, markings, special effects....these will all be taken into consideration when judging. well its all fun at the end. I enjoy doing this.

    1. I deeply love your work man, you did some inner details as well....are you using vector software to do that?? seems that very neat and clean. This is what should be called creative,
you're not just made it very well in colors, also you modified alot of parts. I'm an illustrator that always looking at this contest, and so far you're one of the best piece I've seen.

    2. Thank you for the kind comments, makes me want to draw more. I'm using mostly photoshop for this contest, except for the hexagon patterns, I did the hexagons in illustrator then imported into photoshop. I was kinda worry that if I modified the parts too much, it might not be able to enter in the contest, so I try to stay within the original lines art, the original lines are still there. so I guess it went through. Im still a student myself, always looking for new ways to improve. I'm glad you like it.

    3. I don't think that's a problem, this is G.G's contest, he's the one providing the prize, he has every right to subjectively choose the color scheme he likes the most.

      Delete
    4. Then whats the point of having a contest? He should just post up a rule, guess what GG's favorite colors are, win a price.

      Delete
    5. Is there anyone who knew G.G's favorite colors? No? That means everyone have to guess right? and that's still a contest.

      Delete
    6. ohkay okay, you win. as long as everyone are having fun and learning. its all good.

      Delete
    7. @ Anon at 7:51PM, even if you come out with GG'S favorite colors, when you suck to make it looks good, it will be always sucks.

      Delete
    8. Actually, i'm not the one who implied that the winner will or should be the one with G.G's favorite colors (In fact it's Anh Lee who implied that). All i said is G.G has every right to chose the color scheme he likes.

  15. Like the rules stated that panel lines, markngs and special effect will take consideration in judging, I'm kind of worry to those who can't use photoshop and other similar software.

    1. yeah, photoshop is a powerful tool to help people illustrate their ideas. Photoshop should be standard in very computers. lol.

      Delete
    2. why you have to worry? this is competition, if you lack of what it takes to win, then face it and learn.

      Delete
    3. I said I'm worried for the others that can't use photoshop, less chances for them to win. But only if this contest is all about just color schemes excluding the panel lines, markings, special effects then they have the chance to win even if they use crayons or colored pencil. Can you see what my point is?

      Delete
    4. Yeas I see your point. however people can still be super neat with pencil and color pencil, they can draw all those markings, special effects, shading etc.. it just takes them not much longer to do. I think even with all those panel lines and special effects doesn't make the gundam a winner. The winner is probably the one with the most well thought out design and colors combination. Even when people have all those panel lines and special effects, if the apply it messy, then its no good. Sometime simple is better. I say just have fun with this project, and don't be bother by other people's overwhelming work.

    5. I am having fun and I'm not really overwhelmed by others' work. I'm only concerned for the other participants.

      Delete
    6. yeah, I'm speaking for other participants as well.. And don't be concerned for the them, they know what they are up against. Its not like when people who have photoshop can create an awesome design, you still need skills. A talented person can use any medium to create an awesome unique piece of art.

  16. at this point it's not even a color scheme contest anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  17. it's still a color scheme contest, take a look at Gio Tangxo's sinanju. all he did was color it with white, yellow, and black, yet it looks so awesome. simple and effecftive. I would pick that one for the win over any detailed flashy gundam. its all how you arrange the colors combinations and placement. well that's my opinion.
    Anh Le...

  18. While adding new panel lining was allowed, modifying the actual design of the mobile suits was not ok'd in the rules.

Changes to the designs (added vents/mechanical detail) should result in disqualification; this is a color scheme contest, not a custom mech contest.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Well the rule doesn't say anything about cannot add vents and mechanical detail. What if all those vents and details are just paint on a flat surface to give that illusion of mechanical, just like how people get tattoos of their skin ripping off showing their inside. its all about how well the colors goes together and the placement.

  23. anh le or roninmastermix, if either these thwo dont get picked very dissapointed. you can tell that efforts been placed into these works. sure color scheme might have been what the contest about but the judges should take into consideration quality and effort... and style. scheme can be anything but finesse and style should go hand in hand. these two i vote.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thank you, and Indeed we put a lot of effort into our every piece of arts we do. However, By looking at the older contest from January, the judges don't really care for detailed work. They are very reasonable with everyone elses, I'm sure they are looking for unique color scheme and patterns more than detailed work. so everyone should have the same chance. good luck all.

  26. Ronins still got my vote. Simple color scheme, nice balance of detail and just better executed than the rest. If there was a most-effort-put-on-the-entry category, i'll give it to Ahn Le.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ronin's is good, very detailed nicely colored, and I learn a lot from his art., not to be disrespect in anyway, but the color scheme is just plain and so is mine. I vote for Michai Lamch black and green design.
