  1. I can't say that I like the "new" 00/AGE beam saber blades on the Astrays. I wish there were a way we could swap them out for the more detailed blades on the old HGs. Then again, this IS the Red Frame, so of course all the focus is going to be on the Gerbera Straight. Still, it's a real bummer.

    1. The old Astray beam blades should fit into this one

    2. how about those who didn't buy the old HG?

    3. If that's a problem, then you're at the wrong hobby

    4. You DO know that not everyone has the tools or skills to customize their kits, right? Beam saber blades can be especially difficult to customize.

    5. The problem is not customizing the beam saber, the problem is you're having a problem about 2 pieces of plastic. This won't be a problem for anyone else, simply because they won't be picky about it.

    6. It's more a nitpick than anything else. I'd still use these, but I'm saying it would look much, much better if the Astray's trademark detailed blades were included instead of this generic set. Though the Astray's beam sabers are usually overshadowed by what other accessories that specific "Frame" had, the beams have ALWAYS been very well detailed to make them stand out just as much as the other accessories whenever they were displayed. It actually made you want to display your Astray with their beam sabers just because of how nice the blades looked, and not always because you had a special pose in mind. Why Bandai didn't bother including them here, I'll never know, but to see the Astray's trademark beams downgraded to just a generic, featureless set almost seems like a crime.

    7. Now, i can tell you are just being pretentious. You acted as if you didn't own the old kit, but now you acted as if you know everything about the old kit. The truth is you own the old kit but you just want something to whine about the new kit.

    8. Actually, the person who said "how about those who didn't buy the old HG?" was a totally different Anon. I DO own the old HG Red Frame, as well as the 1/100 NG, and I think they're pretty good kits for their age, especially the old HG. I admit, I arrived at the "beams were detailed to stand out against the other accessories" bit based on next to nothing, but you have to admit, it is kind of a bummer that we're getting a much less impressive looking set of blades than the detailed ones that have always been a standard for all scales of the vanilla Astrays.

    9. Then why are you even complaining? It isn't a bummer for me because i'm not nitpicking. Again, people like you who look for anything to whine are always the real problem.

  2. Might be better off using the gebera straight katana that SEEMS to be included *stares at hilt of sword in top pic* as beam sabers never look good on this guy, least to me

  4. for anyone who thinks its rough to customize the beam sabers two things:
#1 buy an original they still exist and are like 12 bucks
#2 nail clippers to trim down the insert tab on the saber effect
ta dah! you've just customized your kit with a tool found in your very own home.
