The Chara Hobby 2010 event had an exhibition that focused on how to photograph gunplas. Good stuff.
Here is an image I took in 2009 using the simple photo booth method covered in the first 6 photos above, but I used a dark grey background paper instead. It came out alright...could use a better camera though.

Any idea what those materials they're using are? I can see the tracing paper
ReplyDeleteIn the article all they mention about the photo booth is using desk lamp, tracing paper attached to aluminum frame, a papar board, and camera w/ tripod. Very simple photo setup.
ReplyDeleteThis is how I try to take photo of my toys too.
this was very useful. thanks.
ReplyDeletenice! might try this one.. my macro box is destroyed already when moving to my new shop orz...
ReplyDelete@BB: Yeah is pretty useful stuff here. It definitely makes a big difference with image quality.
ReplyDelete@Tsukinari: The requirement for the setup is very minimal, I am already using this format to take my recent Kamen Rider figures photos. They turned out pretty good.
amazing... I wish i have room to set up such a "studio" in the little space I have for photoshooting. Saving this page for later use. Thanks for sharing it ^^.
