  1. Great! But doesn’t have enough RG feel.

    1. How can you tell that based on a picture? We don't even have a proto type of the actual item.

    2. Looking at other RG images when they were first announced, they immediately showed something new and fresh from other iterations of the same MS.
Don’t get me wrong, it is great looking, but lacks in the RG “redesign”,
It is so similar to the MG that doesn’t make me too interested since I have the normal and the R1 MG.

      Delete
    3. It's not similar to the MG it looks more like the Metal Build proportions which is awesome cause I love the Metal Build

      Delete
    4. I think it's just such a contemporary design that there isn't much more room to improve the aesthetic without drastically altering it. Compared to the UC RGs, which are all based on heavily dated designs anyway. Even the Seed designs are starting to show their age.

      Delete
    5. I think it's just such a contemporary design that any updates would result in a drastic change. Look at all the other RGs, which are largely based on stuff from the 80s. Even the SEED designs are showing their age at this point.

      Delete
    6. Exia original design itself is rather new compare to the rest of the RG-ed gundam. Bandai gang dont want to over do it with the RG things. so to many of us it doesn't seems much has change... too much, and you'll say "CLUSTERFUCK" again. right?

      Delete
    7. I agree on the first coment, RG feel is weak on this one.

      Delete
    8. ^ Say whatever you wanna say but nobody can stop me from having this. I almost have all except for the Metal Build 'cause I can't afford it yet. Oh and by the way, I'm a true Exia fan unlike the others who just pretends to be one.

    11. Does the gnsword look a little bit like repair II to anyone else?

Other than that... nervous with anticipation. I would like to see what they do with the rg skeleton.

    12. there will b others.. avalanche, 0 gundam, gn-x, z-wei, 00-riser/7 swords, QANT/ELS.. u name it

  3. THAT IS AMAZING! I was hoping for something from the OYW, but no complaints here. Hope the start releasing the at a faster pace, 6 or 7 a year would be nice, one a month would be better!

    ReplyDelete
  4. 2,700 yen? It better come with a chromed GN Sword AT LEAST for that price, it's the highest of the RG line so far.

    1. Strike Freedom is 3000 yen.

    2. i prefer they include the seven sword system instead GN sword.

    3. maybe because starting april, the tax here in japan will increase from 5% to 8%, maybe all kits starting april will be a little expensive.

  5. YES!!!!!!!!!!FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! A must have.

I'm glad they used the Metal Build's proportion.

  8. I think I see some two tone color effects on the blue parts. The chest vents, lower back, cockpit hatch, and beam saber racks seem to be a little darker than the rest of the blue. Can't quite tell if the dark blue on the shoulders is meant to be the the same color or a shading effect.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I think it's the RG 2 tone color scheme. It looks kinda weird though.

  9. looking forward to seeing the prototype on this....
Prototype - isn't that a song for s.2 of the show?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yep, The song with: "E~eee~eeeee" at the beginning & ending

      Delete
    2. i don't liked that song..... its more "eerie" that might creep me out if i ever come across to that song in my mp3 player on my CP.... :P

      Delete
  10. While it's never been abandoned, the multi-tone color effects in real grades have been greatly toned down with the past few kits, and it's becoming more and more difficult to find where they are in lineart and photographs. It's getting to the point now that you need sharp eyes to notice where they are.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Looking back, the main ms designs never really impressed me in 00. But if they were to release the Q[T] I'd definitely get that.

    ReplyDelete

    1. lol for me Qan[T} are the worst design in OO universe, tirst generations are the best (but still MG Exia are bad; I'm not a fan of their zero-articulation upper waist and torso).

      Delete
    3. Yes, I wouldn’t mind more SEED

    4. Instead of Seed & 00, how about another timeline? Simpler MS such as G Gundam, Turn A, GP-03S, and Wing would drain many's wallet.

  22. This is awesome that RG Exia is finally coming, and in 4 months! What I'm scared about is the very good chance that we are going to see variations, and more variations on top of those variations. Can't forget about Bandai's favorite releases with Premium Bandai exclusives. I can already see Bandai doing the Repair 1 2 3, 00 Raiser, 7 Sword G, Qan[t], Full Saber Qan[t], 00 Condenser Type, Astraea, Type F, and TransAm versions for them all.

We have to remember what Bandai released as regular and exclusives with their favorite line Seed/Destiny.
Aile Strike, Aile Strike Rouge (exclusive), IWSP Strike Rouge (exclusive), Strike Deactive (exclusive), Freedom , Freedom Deactive (exclusive), Justice, Justice Deactive (exclusive), Destiny, wings of light (exclusive), Destiny Deactive (exclusive)
Strike Freedom, super dragoon wings (exclusive), Destine Heiney ver. (exclusive), Skygrasper
That makes Seed and Destiny getting 15 releases in total and I might missed some and Bandai could release more.

So maybe from 00 we can see:
Exia, Exia Roll Out, Exia Trans Am, Exia Repair 1, Exia Repair 2, Exia Repair 3, Exia Avalanche Dash, 00 Raiser, 00 Raiser Trans Am, 00 Raiser 7 Sword G, 00 Raiser Condenser, XN Raiser add on, Astraea, Astraea Type F , Astraea Type F2, 0 Gundam Roll Out, 0 Gundam ACD, 00 Qan[t], 00 Qan[t] Trans Am, 00 Qan[t] Full Saber add on set
That's about the same number of releases Bandai did with Seed and Destiny so far including exclusive items.

    2. Dammit, suiton! Please try to understand for once that just because one suit from one series is introduced in a line does not mean that the floodgates will open to let dozens more from that same series will just pour out. That only happens once for every series, and it's called 1/144 Scale High Grade.

      Delete
    3. what suiton here fails to see, which is normal for him since he has no real clue about what he's talking about, as anyone can see, is that all these variations are simple recolors and rehashes of existing kits, while the kits on wishlist spaming (not in the form of an actual list this time, some actual progress! yay) are actual variations that demand new molds. Now, the RG line is now up to 15 regular releases, with about 3 or 4 per year. What he's asking is for bandai to turn the (very limited and still in it's beginning) RG line to be turned into the HG line, so they can pump out all the kits on his OCD list, like anon before me mentioned. Suiton yet again shows how little he understands about the subject at hand, no matter how much he tries to pretend he does otherwise

      Delete
    4. Suiton is hiding as an anonymous again because he noticed the X-Pac Heat he created (he got banned in animesuki again LoL) . I also noticed that whenever I see comments in Prime92 and other Gunpla reviewers in youtube (except in rrobbert184's because the latter blocked him), his comments always has 1 thumb up, maybe he gives himself a self-high five?

      Delete
    5. It's a long time since I last seen Suiton here lol...

But still, I will be looking forward to this one, seeing that I had great time building RG Strike Freedom, which is also my first time building RG kits lol...

    6. well, you can see his vids also always have a thumbs up immediately after being uploaded. He's like those ppl on fb who like their own status, cuz nobody else will ^^

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just hope we get a 00 raiser soon enough, and that Bandai will use Exia's frame to do the other 3rd gen gundams...

    ReplyDelete

wtf I was expecting metal build proportions!

    ReplyDelete
  33. It's legs looks kinda small... hopefully it can stand alone when we attached the Seven Swords (or the Avalanche in the future)

    ReplyDelete
  34. The feet looks weird and too small, those knees looks bulky and the torso is kinda big. I have no complains though, it's still just a prototype.

So people hold your complains, it's just a prototype.

    1. Yes, all will be fixed, just like the SF’s beam rifles

    2. I have a hunch that theyll add an led or sitting pilot in the large torso

      Delete
  35. Looks good to me. I too was expecting that it would look like the one from the artwork but come to think of it, if this one looks similar to the metal build then it doesn't have its own identity because the RG line should have original designs and will only be considered as a miniature version of the MB and there's a chance that I will not desire to buy the MB anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  36. for all of you complaining about the price I think it is because of taxes increase http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Real_Grade

  40. 00 series gundams with no blink blink GN drive = sucks gundams. The GN drive effects are just that awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  41. seven sword?! exia seven sword?! fyeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    ReplyDelete
  42. They ain't going to re-issue a RG Strike Noir because there was never a RG Strike Noir to begin with. What you linked are mods people did from a RG Strike.

I guess you could try to mod one your self with the 1/144 Strike Noir and the RG Strike Gundam.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lower legs look a little chunky but great overall.

    ReplyDelete
  44. is that gn sword not attached on arm like the shield ?

    ReplyDelete
  45. do you guys think there will be an add-on like R1-R2?

    ReplyDelete
  46. keep wondering if this kit is compatible with parts from avalance exia HG

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm looking forward to this. I was wondering if what the RG line would do after alternating between UC and CE. I had a feeling that they would go into RG AD eventually, but not this soon. I hope that they come out with a RG 00 Raiser+GN Sword III. 00 Raiser is one of my all time favorite Gundam designs.

    ReplyDelete
  48. really good!!!like mb exia

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think MB Exia is a lot slimmer than the RG (just look at the legs). MB Exia is after all, the best looking Exia to date and still is (though I may have to see the final product of the RG to be sure).

      Delete
  49. I'd prefer they focus on bringing the other 00 series Gundams out in MG versions. It's disappointing enough they never gave us any 1/100s from the movie and there's been too many versions of the Exia and 00 as it is.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh cheeky bandai, trying to boost sales of the gn arms are we.

  55. To be honest, I'm sick of Setsuna's suits as much as I am sick with SEED/SEED Destiny suits... There's a billion of them! Like for example, 00 has 10 MGs in line. 9 of them are Setsuna's, and one is HRL/AEU/Union. I wouldn't mind seeing love for the other guys, you know. I mean, from all the suits, a GN-X?!

But I'm just ranting here. And my opinions don't matter for the higher ups in Bandai.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Correction: 5 MG in 00 and 4 of them is Setsuna's :)

I do wish Bandai would give more love to other guys too. How about a MG Flag or the ones from the movie?

It looks like HG in its current pics. But I wonder how good it looks if the panel lines are painted.

For expansions, the I'll go for the GN Arms but not the repair. I'll buy a second RG Exia and break it. The cloth in the pic looks PLASTIC not real.... (be more imaginative ^_^)

    ReplyDelete
  72. can anyone tell me if this exia lights up?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Doesn't look like a RG at all.
A HG with good parts separation, yes, just like wing gundam. But no RG.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm a bit annoyed they're going with clear arm cable parts again and darker "thigh" parts instead of silver.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Wait til Bandai annoyingly announces the Trans Am, Repair 2, Repair 3, and old-school gray ones as online exclusives. We know they're gonna do it since they spammed out tons of exclusives with Seed/Seed Destiny in RG.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There will be no gray versions as these were "deactive phase shift armor" versions, and last I checked none of the 00 kits had phase shift armor.

    2. There's a roll out version of the Exia which sports a gray colour scheme.

  76. contrary to popular thought i think it looks great, being a complete tool and owning most of the exia 1/144 variants and the mg exia i have to say it looks fantastic, though keep in mind that as HG's get better the line between them and RG's will blend as it is. the detail from what i can see far outweighs what the HG could do though. the color seperation and proportioning are far better. it looks like it could be better than the MG imo. but everyone is a critic (alot of 00 haters too). the other thing to keep in mind is that the exia is a more contemporary design, it needs little redesign compared to all of the previous RG's which have designs that are at coming up on 10 years old ( CE stuff) and at at least 20 for the UC stuff for the most part. cut them some slack. i gaurentee you the RG unicorn if they make it will be strikingly similar to its HG contemporary and people will have similar complaints.

But their are alot of uncultured morons and immature teens on this site so I think you give them too much credit in regards to their understanding as I doubt they'll know what "contemporary" means. It's probably not in their vocabulary.

    3. @anon 8:33 Well said sir. But I disagree that it's a popular thought, because those are the same few persons who even troll a mere artwork and hated Exia and 00 series in the first place.

Speaking of popular, Exia is popular enough to be in the RG line now instead of later. I didn't see it coming this early and expected it to be released sometime in 2016 or 2017 when 00 will celebrate its 10th year.

    4. @anon 4:38 I think they are referring to the majority of posters on this website, not just this post in particular and I have to agree. There are only a handful of intelligent/mature comments on here or any other post. Otherwise it's verbal attacks, trolls, and childish comments that show you either live with your parents and don't have money issues or have no understanding of budgeting. The childish comments I'm referring to are the high critiquers who are always asking for more, more articulation, better designing, more parts etc. There are so many things to consider in the creative process and then there are costs to consider. No company wants to lose money and at the end of the day it's all about business above customer satisfaction, realistically speaking. To me reading these comments clearly shows their ignorance of how the real world works and are pretty much sheltered by living with their parents or are still teenagers who haven't matured to thinking outside their own little bubble. Just based on the comments on here I can tell many are spoiled brats with money to throw around since they live with their parents. Start living on your own and you start learning about responsibility and the childish mentality of wanting this or wanting that decreases, it doesn't disappear by any means but you definitely acquire the mentality of appreciating what you have more than what you want.

    5. Well I completely disagree.
The same happened with the wing gundam.

It seems that some people want to shut down any complain made by others and automatically label them as immature and morons devaluing their words.
That’s wrong, we have consumers and each have our own expectations of the product, I hope we aren’t sheep that buy a kit just because is the some specific gundam while trying to ignore all its flaws.

There always be people satisfied and there always be people disappointed with a new kit.
If you like the kit, great! But just don’t make a holy crusade against others that may not be completely satisfied trying to devalue their opinion. Because it seams that there is a bunch of guys calling trolls/childish/moron everyone that has the slightest bit of dissatisfaction towards the kit.

It seems this day and age everyone has to be a sheep that always says “YES TAKE ALL MY MONNEY”, otherwise you are a troll or immature.

    6. OP of this little thread here, i never labeled anyone as a moron or the like, i respect everyone here who treats me with equal respect nor did i start a crusade. i simply think people are being a little overcritical of a kit that hasn't even been released yet. please don't misinterpret what i am saying, however i stand by my comment about the fact its a newer kit that didn't need a lot of design renovation.

    7. anyone can applaud or complain about a kit, but here is a good tip for everyone out there. "Want it? then buy it if you can. Hate it; then keep your money for your self, buy what you don't hate and don't ridicule people who doesn't share the same opinion as you.". if it just that people here thinks this way, life would be better for us gunpla lovers, don't you think? :) by the way, this RG will definitely be on top of my drawer, build and posed in awesome!!! OwOd

  77. Don't let anyone convince you it'd be hard for Bandai to include an LED in a 1:144 Gundam kit. It wasn't hard to do that 20 years ago and it certainly isn't today. Today it's dirt cheap for them to do (especially when the battery isn't included). If they don't include an LED in the GN drive the choice won't have to do with insufficient technology.

    1. Another genius making far too many assumptions based on preconceived notions of how a company operates and the complicated process involved in engineering these figures/model kits. Honestly there's nothing wrong with having an opinion but please don't claim to understand something unless you are directly involved with or have seen it first hand. If you work for a reputable modeling company and have first hand experience in the engineering processes of developing and manufacturing plastic models or any sort of consumer goods then by all means educate us but other wise keep what ever is coming out of your ass to yourself.

    2. *Lol* I work as a biomedical engineer and have more than 2000hrs logged in CAD software varying from NX8.0 to SolidWorks. I've been through the patent process, prototyping all the way through to manufacturing, so *yes* I DO have the expertise to speak on this. My two undergraduate degrees and my graduate degree are sufficient to back this far and above the fact that I know how much a fucking LED costs to buy in bulk. It's cute that the one person you challenge on this happens to be qualified to tell you how much of an ass you are but even cutier that you don't possess the critical thinking skills needed to think through such a simple process. Walk through a dollar store and look for things with button cell batteries and LEDs-- they cost pennies to manufacture at the kind of price-breaks Bandai achieves by way of their sheer production volume. What I said was 100% correct based on my 10 years of experience as an engineer but perhaps I don't have a full view of Bandai's situation since I'm largely restricted to the North American market.

Don't bother replying, though, as I doubt I'll see another snide reply by chance and know I'll care just as little about your baseless accusations as I did tonight.

    3. Wow you're a biomedical engineer with not I but 2 undergraduate degrees and a graduate degree and you think the word cutier is a word which is spelled incorrectly in and of itself. Since you're a stranger on the internet claiming to be these things it must be true, I definitely believe you're a biomedical engineer who can't spell, someone as educated as your self who spends his time arguing with someone in some random blog about model kits. Yeah just so you know I'm a teenager so its understandable but if you claim to be what you're saying to be than you must have a sad life with all that money your making and prestigious title and some kid on the internet pissed you off. You might want to clean what ever is coming out of you're mouth because I smell BS.

    1. It's most likely going to be the RG 00 Raiser first. I am scared to see how many P-Bandai exclusive releases the RG 00 series will get.

    2. I'm expecting the 7S/g and GN Condenser variants to be premium for that one. For 00Q they'll probably do the FullSaber as an exclusive.

  79. The artwork lies!!! No multiple shades of blue!
It seems more and more like a HG with an innerframe.
At least it will have good mobility…

  80. Where's RG The O? That would be freaking awesome! Not to mention, RG Sazabi!

  81. I hope bandai hobby site will make tutorial about how to convert RG Exia with Astraea or F2 HG kit.

    1. I would hold off and wait to see what Bandai will do. I think maybe if we are lucky we will get RGs for the Astraea and the Type F and Type F2 versions; even if that means online exclusive.

  82. I wonder if the HG Astraea F Type's weapons would fit in this one's hands.

  83. I plan to do a RG Exia Dark Matter. Since I've already made the RG Star Build Strike inspired on Bandai Tutorial.

  84. Who else is excited that it can actually hold something while the gn sword is still on its arm... I don't have the mg so correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the first model to be able to do that

  85. Kinda wish they gave us more detailed beams, but they're probably going to give us the beams like the hg age-1 :/
They've given us the same old beams so the beam sabers have become an after thought for me

  86. I'm curious about those GN Cables, as they look like they come off a sheet. Are they rubber like the HG, or similar material to the foil decals?

    1. They might be like the nobel gundam's beam ribbon

  87. Well it looks like there will most definitely be a 00 Gundam. I hope they use the Metal Build or the PG's proportions for it. the MG's gave it an overly roundish feel as opposed to the MB and PG's more masculine solid edges

  88. Does anyone know if the code you get to use with G Generation Frontier come with the initial release of the kit?

  89. Hmm...somehow that removable GN Drive looks like it will be compatible with another RG....00 Gundam perhaps?...If it does, maybe RG 0 Gundam(In the future)can attach its GN Drive to 00 Gundam as well.Think about it! :D

    1. So you're saying soon 0 Gundam RG will be released then 00 RG will follow. To complete 00 RG we would the GN Drives of 0 and Exia? That's to say... 00 won't be coming with any GN Drives??

      Yikes.

  90. It definitely looks more stocky than the MG. Not sure if that is enough difference to set it apart but I still want it. Maybe I'll get this one and then get Destiny Gundam RG so Exia can punch it in the face

  91. Well its look good for me as for 00 series, the proportion already new age....

But I'm hoping if some day bandai will come out RG for Gundam Wing series....

I can sure many people waiting for it.
