  2. *GASP* oh no! your panties are all in a bunch because you lack the skills required to make a kit from a show almost entirely about developing gunpla skills! Too bad paint is so damn expensive!

    1. Bizarrely enough, some people like "quality". This may be a new concept to you, but the presence of stickers where there could easily be plastic is an example of low quality. Call me crazy, but this kit doesn't have the best quality. Thus the complaints.

    2. Quality =/= more colors molded in detail, especially in a smaller kit. If you had any knowledge of materials science and injection molding, you'd realise to create a low cost piece with higher tolerances, a reasonable amount of durability and detail, a single piece will perform much better than two small separate pieces. I'd rather sacrifice color separation than sharpness of detail, which I deem a better mark of quality. Nice try though.

    3. I'd like to point out that your entire post was talking about better methods to make a "low cost" part. You're essentially saying that cutting corners leads to better quality. Your definition of quality is essentially a white brick with stickers. Great job. I can't wait to see you in charge of a model company.

    4. nah brah, he saying more colors = less detail
smaller the part, the worse the detail

    5. @anon, kit quality has nothing to do with modeler skill.

Of course a skilled modeler can shape a low quality kit into high quality build.
But it doesn't change the fact that this kit is low quality from start.

If you want to brag about your kit modeling skill, go elsewhere.
There's many skilled modeler here and they know how to differentiate between lower quality kit and higher quality one. Obviously you're not one of them.

    6. If the chest is all one piece that's fine, but considering they've done similar parts like the vents in plastic pieces and those are stickers, then it's not necessarily quality, it's corner cutting

    7. I haven't built it but this seems to be mostly based off the old Hg gundam MK2 AEUG kit so I can see why some stickers are used. Also This is targeted towards young children, so it makes sense for bandai to do what they can to make the kit cost less

    8. I see your point. Probably there's no yellow parts for the assembled kit most likely. This Hg uses that universal joint system,

  4. Oh wow, Bandai. Just... wow. That's sad.

What the hell is happening to HG? This isn't as bad as Rozen Zulu or Delta Kai but those two are fairly detailed. Needing stickers for v-fins and chest vents on such a simple design is shocking. The guy attempting to defend this is hilarious. Go build the HGUC Mk.II or Super Gundam from 10+ years ago and tell me this one looks good.

  5. You can remove the vents from the chest and the V-fin and head piece are 2 parts in the old MKII. This one definitely looks like a step backwards. Looks like this was rushed.

  6. I don't what you guys are complaining about. I'm more of a MG kinda guy and I'm not really into 1/144 scale series so I can't really understand your frustration, but the only thing I can say is "IT IS INEXPENSIVE"! It's 1800 yen for crying out loud. If you are a builder with some skills, it won't matter anyway cause your going to be painting the whole thing. If not, take a yellow Gundam Marker and color it. It is not a big deal...unless laziness kicks in. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Just boycott it. Simple as that. If Bandai sees a little dent in their sales, maybe they will upgrade it.

If your reeeaaallly disappointed that much, then send Bandai a formal complaint letter or something instead of coming in here and venting out your frustration. Really, it is getting tiring to read all this anger. I came here to read what new info other people had of this Gundam (cause I still have no clue who pilots this in Build Fighters and how it would play into the story) and all I see is complaints after complaints. If you guys want to argue that much then get each others phone numbers or email and argue there.

From unbiased business perspective, what Bandai did was actually legit. Making 2 different pieces or injecting different color into one costs more. If they can save a few yen by that, think of how much they can save if they sold a million kits. In my opinion, I think they just did you guys a favor by doing this to keep the price down. If they made the vent a separate piece, Bandai might have jacked up the price an extra 500 yen. Who knows. Granted it is a gamble on Bandai's part, but some people are not willing to pay an extra 500 yen while some people do. It's like what they did with the Playstation 3 when Sony decided to remove the PS2 compatibility chip, they lower the cost and Sony saved a ton of money. It's a simple business strategy.

Now, if Bandai decided to blatantly pull off something like this with the obvious high end kits like MG or PG, then we have a problem here. But personally I wouldn't mind if Bandai decided to implement MG technology from 10 years ago into new kits, really. Like I said it's not a big deal and it saves a little bit of cash too. I'm out. Peace...no seriously peace.

    1. 1. Without accounting for inflation, the HGUC Super Gundam was 2000 yen. The Titans Mk.II was 1000. Neither needed stickers for these parts. Implying that you can't expect much from an 1800 yen kit is obviously untrue. Speculating that this saved 500 yen is both baseless and irrelevant. Would that honestly factor into your purchasing decision? FIVE HUNDRED yen?

      2. Fuck off, I'll complain on an internet blog's comments if I want to. Do YOU write a "formal complaint letter" every time something comes up that bothers you? Do you write to foreign companies in a language that they wouldn't be able to read or reply to? No, I didn't think so. Stop trying to boss people around. This is a perfectly reasonable outlet for frustration and if you can't handle the slightest hint of negativity, you should probably stop reading comments on the internet altogether.

      3. What is this shit about getting each others' phone numbers? Are you coming onto me? If so... I'm intrigued. I would love to have a long, deep conversation with you about Gunpla where we can really get to know each other better! ;)

    2. Ok kid listen up...

      1. First off kid, you need to stop slacking off in grade school and learn how to read. Didn't I say "Bandai might" and "who knows"? Given that it was a tad bit baseless, it was a speculation. Half joking, but speculation none the less given the fact that I am no fortune teller. But irrelevant? You couldn't be more wrong. Also, it's not completely baseless. I've seen Bandai charge an arm and a leg for a small effects part or extra weapons before. So it was sarcasm and speculation at the same time. Also, granted 1800 yen is fairly steep for a HG, but looking at the economy these days, it's not so unreasonable. When HG 00 Qan T came out over 3 years ago, it was 1600 Yen. But at the same time have you even seen the bottom of HG 00 Qan T's feet? It's frickin hollow! Not just the feet, other parts are hollowed out too. Bandai's been cutting corners here and there ever since back in the days and nobody complains or even remember that so....why now?

      2. Secondly, watch your language kid. This is public and a community to gather and talk about things that we all love, which is Gundam. This is not your personal living room where you can do and say whatever you want. Granted this is a virtual community so no one can hit you or hunt you down, but it really does not give you the okay to do so. Actually, you can say whatever you want, but grown ups keep something called mannerism. I'm not quite sure you know what that is yet. Also, you mentioned I boss people around? If we compare this public community as a public park and you were right next to me smoking, I will ask you to put it out. I am not bossing people around, but as someone who reads these posts and follows Gundam news daily here, I will not hesitate to ask you to stop if it's bothersome. If you want to complain and cry, cry to your teddy bear kid. That "writing letter" comment was sarcasm, if you know what sarcasm is. I'm not telling you to "literally" write Bandai a letter. That would be bothersome. They'll probably just throw the letter away. The point I was trying to make was "quit complaining like a kid". If you got nothing good to say, keep it to yourself instead of venting it here where everyone can read your complaints. It's really hard on the eyes.

      3. Lastly...I can't believe I have to comment on this. Again...you really have to learn how to read. Let me break this down for you....Who said anything about coming on to you? I said "if you guys...get each others phone numbers". I don't even exist in that comment. Quite frankly, I don't think your my type. I don't want to be know as a pedophile either so "ABSOLUTELY NO THANK YOU". Wow, I can't believe I am wasting my time writing this thing. My point has been made so this is going to be my last post. Think who you would offend and think what you say before you say it...and read carefully before you post.

    3. TL;DR: Everything stupid I just said was "half joking" or "sarcasm"

      Nice try.

  7. I just thought of this given this kit and DX, it seems like Bandai's making HG(Timeline) the entry-level grade for scale models.

  8. If this is remolded from the old HG Gundam Mk2, then will the universal joints work with older Hg kits? Has anyone tried it

    1. Old MkII use pegs and holes for shoulder joints. Not really sure about this one, maybe someone with sharper eyes can confirm if this uses new ball joints.

  9. Seriously people, what are you trying to prove? your skill? your intellect?

Internet media give you illusion that what you do might matter because anyone can see what you write. But in the end we are still nothing but a history log of this blog. Neither you, me or anyone here matter at all.
