  1. Why it have to be rx-78? It should be 00 Raiser or 00 Quanta since they're the mightiest gundams ever...

    1. Are you serious?? (-_-)

    2. Yes, absolutely sure. Gundams from 00 series are too powerful compared to other series. 00 also has the best storyline, character & mecha design. It's more acceptable for recent generations.

    3. because it is Gundam's icon you dumbfuck
      just like Pikachu from Pokemon

without it we are not getting Gundam alive for over than 30 years
RX-78-2 deserved and always deserved this treatment kthxbye

    4. Yea... for fairy tail loving, retro little kids...who have no idea what the real gundams stands for, screw the recent generation... u guys are bunch of kid's bitching about everything...

    6. At first comment. I like double wing too! Oh wait I ment double O, its so hard to keep them straight since double o has absolutely no similarities to wing. Its not like the main character is a antisocial prick that's a Dick to woman or that their rival has blonde hair and wears a mask. OO stole so main elements from wing its joke. Just like seed did from msg. You rubes think you series is the best and msg and the rx-78 is crap. When when every series as taken some sort of element from the msg series. Not realizing every series that came after msg is just the bastard son. If you were a gundam fan you would respect and appreciate the rx 78 and enjoy all series.. But your just a fanboy. Now why don't you keep your comments to yourself unless it involves that liberal hippy loving series of yours.

    7. I'm sorry have you seen gundam turn-a? Although both the turn-a and turn-x are weird in mech design. This two are the most powerful mobile suits ever made. To say the 00 raiser and quanta are the most powerful gundams ever just shows you're new to this world of anime.

    8. Hahaha, I laughed a lot at the first comment.
      Thanks Anon 1

  3. If you're going to portray a legacy like gundam in marble for all the world to see, you need to start from the beginning. The rx-78 was the first production type gundam in the very first MSG series. If i recall even Amuro started with this gundam so its the most logical choice. Besides why portray one of the most over powered and god modded gundams in the whole series, when you can portray an absolute classic.

    1. Like I said before, because today's generation will accept it more. Screw up those classic lover! I bet that they're all about 40 years old or even more. Even that unicorn series looks like a crap compared to 00...

    2. There is a reason why 00 was cancelled -_- I swear you young fucks don't know shit about gundam. To say 00 raiser and 00 quanta are the most powerful gundams ever is just plain stupid. I will admit, gundam wing started out my love for gundam. But the turn-A and the turn-X are the most powerful mobile suits ever created. The moonlight butterfly..nuff said. And before you dumb fucks start off.

    3. Wait 00 was cancelled? When was that? I don't know about raiser but quanta is pretty sure, I mean come on. How much power do you think it would take to travel through space. Also if you guys don't agree with another persons opinion, there is no reason to be using profanity to make your point. Back to topic, I wish it wasn't another rx-78. I wish chars zaku or norris's gouf custom.

  4. It could really use a better pose, designers are always terrible "posers"!! :P

  5. Too the dumb little fuck who actually said 00 is the better series all around( story, characters, and mechs). Haha shut the fuck up. Thats not only strike one but that is ndoubtably the dumbest thing I've heard. And as for the comment about te classic lovers being 40 now. Yeah...I'm 21 years old. So strike two for you. And strike three being...turn-A gundam. For being a "fan" gundam you sure are clueless about what gundam is the most powerful gundams of all time. Gundam Turn-A and Turn-X. Why? Moonlight butterfly. Nuff said and look it up.

  6. All I can say about these comments is this: power, no matter how completely broken in the story, is never the weight of a gundam's importance, but that it is the iconic meaning behind a gundam that makes it so great. That is why the RX-78 will always be admired the most as the epitome of all gundams, as well as why I won't give two flying craps about Turn-A or 00 being "the most powerful" or whatever, because I watch and love gundam not for the crazy-ass power levels that people keep comparing between different MS. The statue of the RX-78 is meant to represent the symbol of vision upon both space and the evolution of mankind, hence is why it makes sense to place the "greatest" gundam (in terms of depth and meaning) as the statue rather than some pointless competition between who is strongest (in strength) and who is not... in a show full of messages instead of your typical video games. Seriously guys, learn to appreciate more than just judging.

    1. Amen to this statement! I just wish that the statue would be more dramatic than what is shown. I mean can we have rx-78 posing for the last beam rifle shot, or amuro standing next to a core fighter.

      Delete
    2. As great as the RX-78-2 posing without a head and its rifle pointed 90degrees up would be, its just not feasible. This statue was built to last. There will undoubtedly be people touching it, children climbing it, etc. For evidence of the damage this can cause, you need look no further then the damage kids have caused to the Zakus involved with the Gundam at the Docks event in Hong Kong, or the idiot who climbed Char's Custom Zaku outside. By posing it low like that, with a lot of rough marble left between the torso and arms/legs, it gives it SOMEWHAT of a chance. Though I have no doubt its going to lose at least ONE of its beam sabers at some point.

    3. Absolutely true, I didn't think about such things and only about the images impact.

    1. It looks like it was constipated and just took a huge dump.

Still like it though, just not in that pose.

  8. Remember, its not the power of the Gundam, its how you use it. Seriously though, the mark of a great Gundam isn't how op bullshit it is. It's how epic the fights are. The EZ-8 vs Gouf custom comes to mind, and the GP01 vs the GP02 from 0083. Even the more op ones like the Wing Zero vs epyon or the last stand at the end of 00 season 1. All series have amazing scenes and that's how we pick our favourites, not on whether it is the most powerful or not. Give me my F91 any day of the week

    1. This is a wonderful point, and I fully believe that the Gouf Custom could use a little more love as each of its pilots have been hardened, respectable soldiers who gave us good fights to remember for years.

  9. To think that someone prefers 00 raiser/quanta had made the statue instead of the original gundam... *facepalm

  10. dont take photo without Mr.Tomino

  11. to all who said that we need to respect the great granddaddy of all gundams... Thank You!

To the idiots who prefer the newer ones, its time you watched the original series and see you cry!

All and i mean all gundam series takes cue from the first so SHUT THE F§<k UP

by the way im not 40 plus im still in my twenties an i love the original gundam

  12. Clearly they should've made a 3D design in CAD first before using a 2D sketch... EPIC FAIL!!!
I would be ashamed as a marble sculptor to say I contributed to a poorly thought out design.
