  1. Did Katoki designed the old one too?

    1. Wrong. It's Yutaka Izubuchi.

    2. What I meant was the old MG and not the original mechanical design, because I read it somewhere back then that Katoki designed some MG mechs but I'm not really sure if he has a touch on the original MG.

  2. Does anyone else prefer the original MG? Bigger funnels, bigger head+v-fin, cleaner look (less crazy panel lines, and best of all, no excessive ver. ka stickers?

    3. I do prefer the old MG's fin funnels, and find it funny that they're bigger, sturdier and more detailed than the new ones.

    4. I see where your going with this and i could agree to some point. After viewing the comparison, i can't really tell which one i prefer. Theyre both great in their own way.

    6. The original has some serious desing flaws, primarily the proportions, the torso and head are way to big compared with the rest of the body. Still, it had some nice features, like the metal parts for the legs inner frame to compensate fin funnels' weight wich make it a really sturdy model and the "mesh pipes" for the back of the legs was cool too. Anyway, I'd take ver. Ka anytime.

    7. I must say I like the old one better as well. I'm a fan of Katoki designs, and I like the new proportions and features (the inner frame is amazing), but I think it's way too busy with panel lines. The old one just looks that much sleeker. My idea would be to take the old one and swap out the head and torso for the new ones.

    8. Ok, fun fact: complaining about the decals on this kit is literally the stupidest thing in the world! Yay!! Congratulations! I am so sick of hearing people whine about the decals. YOU CAN LEAVE THE DECALS OFF YOU RETARDS! AND I HOPE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CAPS LOCK TOO!!

  4. After reviewing the comparisons on both Dalong and Toysdaily, I must say I am not too trilled about the new ver ka like before. Proportion is not all that better than the old MG due to the narrow chest, short torso vs too long and thick of legs, and rear skirt armors are too high or basically it is carrying its ass on its shoulder (looking at a pic on Toysdaily). It is not too say old MG is better, femur section of the leg is too short and the head is too big, but it looks more proportional. Anyways, Gunpla is too expensive now. Yen is going down and gonna stay down for a while, I will wait.

  5. The Ver.ka looks nice, but it's so expensive and there's nothing really WRONG with the old one - it's just different. So it's nice to get comparison pictures, but keep the price in mind, too (7000y compared to 5000y). Hell, the original 1/100 (with metal AND multi-color parts!) was just 2500y - I know there's been a lot of inflation since 1988, but that's a bargain. Just something to think about.

  6. The proportions on the new Ver Ka are much better. The old MG has huge Popeye forearms that look silly, and the head is too big. The Ver Ka fixes this, and is a better version. The only complaint about the Ver Ka I have is some of the panel lines seem arbitrary/unnecessary, but it is still an improvement. Pretty much all the original CCA MGs have bad proportions, IMO, so I hope we see Ver Ka Sazabi and RE-GZ MG, too.

  7. Wow what a bunch of typical internet-cuntyness I'm seeing here. Here Bandai actually does something truly remarkable with this kit; basically re-inventing the game so far as master grades go, and all I see is "wah, too many panel lines" and "wah, I like the old one better". Are you fucking for real?? Do you really think it makes you sound slick to say you prefer the obviously inferior kit from 12 fucking years ago? And mind you, that old Nu Gundam MG is was great in its day, and comes relatively close to holding up now. But the new MG is is amazing (whether you CHOOSE to leave the decals off or not) and makes the old kit look retarded, no debate needed. If you really don't realize how much better the new kit is, then please get out of this hobby, seriously. Progress is a huge part of the gunpla hobby and we don't have time to humor you cunts.

    2. only if its the same mech then we can compare, they put NTD in the new one and the new crest on the shield look like garbage for starter, so its not about new and old since these 2 are different mech

  8. Too anyone complaining about the torso being short, its not the building design. Its the original design of the suit. If you don't like the proportion, you can always get a robot damashii since all their figures are made slimmer.
