Revived Gundam - Anime Style Scratch Build

Revived Gundam - Anime Style Scratch Build
Modeled by むむむノ53
This spectacular model of the RX-78-2 Gundam in anime style is a work of art.  This build was an entry in the previously held 12th All Japan "Ora-Zaku" Competition in Japan.  Although it didn't placed for any award, but it was only a point away from winning the bronze award.

  1. This has to be made by the same guy who made that Gundam Mk-II seen previously. It has to be. Regardless...

...Like with that Gundam Mk-II model, I almost had a CG model vibe here, but it's also clearly a physical model. Yet it also looks like it came straight from an anime screencap! I've seen a figure or two with similar proportions before, but this takes the cake in capturing the feel of how Gundam was animated back in 1979.

The only nitpick I may have is using black for detailing among the yellow areas (vents, collar) rather than white (implying reflection of light). I don't know' maybe I'm seeing that detail in the wrong way. *shrug* Nevertheless, it's a minor nitpick compared to this overall impressive job.

    Excellent work.

    1. Looking at the images again, I think I may be wrong about the nitpick after all; the detailing on the vents--and likely the collar--in some of the images look like it makes some sense; more shading rather than reflecting.

But I guess I'm overanalyzing what's clearly one of the masterpieces of Gunpla customizing.

    2. This is every bit accurate to the original animation. Like a 3D version of the cels.

  2. Now that looks nice, much nicer imo than the perspective builds.

  3. At the first sight, i can't differentiate it with a mere picture. At the second sight, i can't differentiate it whether it is a paper craft or actual plastic model...
    Awesome job nonetheless.
