    2. Yes, but not Seed.

    3. Destiny will always be the biggest mess in Gundam, the only thing I liked about it was some of the mech designs, other than that the plot was handled really badly

And I wouldn't say Justin Bieber, I would say its the Jar Jar Binks of Gundam, the big F*** up that made sure it would never be repeated again in the future

    4. It seems that all of you forget the glorious Gundam ZZ, Glemmy Toto FTW :D

    5. No, I agree with olotaro, Age series is more like JB in gundam. To be honest, I lost interest watching it after ep 4. Still waiting for final arc, hoping it will better.

However, perhaps that's because I've watched more awsome Gundam series before Age. For newcomer, I think Age will be fine.

Destiny looks fine for me, I watched every episode of it and never lost interest. I think it's an awesome series.
But that might be because I only have watched Wing and Seed at the time I watch Destiny.

People that already watched Zeta or ZZ before Destiny might have different view. Just saying.

    6. this is by far the most different plot in gundam history. the main reason you kiddies bash AGE is because of its drawing style.

all the glamour, hype, designs can be a recipe for a good series. AGE's recipe for being something entirely different is what makes it stand above the rest. sure the designs are not as appealing or badazz as 00 BUT it does have MS's that are likeable too!

now, go join the hate bandwagon and miss something as great as AGE because you are too shallow.

    7. No the main reason these ignorant trolls don't have a life, comparing this show to their favourite sex lust symbol that ends with the name Bieber is because they haven't even seen the show in its entirety.

Case in point Anon 4, you've ONLY seen through episode 4. Yeah im gonna go ahead and watch the first 4 episodes of Zeta and call it a dryhump of arse. Do you see how utterly stupid that is?

I guess you missed out, because from episode 5 onwards, the show started to pick up its stride. It even pays a glorious homage to the battle of A Baoa Qu near the end.

How bout you people watch up to episode 15 at least? Then you'll realise how pathetic yous are sitting here comparing this show to a person everybody loves to hate just because it's the coolest thing to do nowadays. Again, you are so dumb, you are really dumb, fo real.

The 2nd season showed this cannot be further from the truth.

I think i kinda get where these guys are coming from. I used to be in the same position, hating on how boring MSG 0079's first few episodes were. Then i realised this was the show that started it all. They tried to do something different at the time. Tomino effectively created the Real Robot genre.

This is exactly what AGE like all other gundam series' before it, is doing: break off from the tradition of whiny sore loser fan expectations lamenting Tomino's departure, breaking new ground.

Dont like it, dont watch it, just dont ruin it for the rest of us and the next generation.

    8. 1) Lol @Senri, just saw the resemblance.
      2) So Destiny bashing is still a thing? Sorry but Destiny was fed by fan demand, I don't agree with how the plot went but that's what the fans from Japan wanted to see. Stop trolling so you can stop reminding yourselves about it.
      3) With Age bashing, I have to agree about the character style, the Gunhale boys and Vargas look like they belong in a Professor Layton game. However, what haters fail to see is the immense story value, particularly on the growth of the main characters.

The 2 main characters so far remind me of how humans actually are, with Flit being obsessed with revenge due to a traumatic childhood experience (Like Muruta Azrael in SEED, except Flit's a protagonist) and Asemu overcoming his weaknesses and being content with his own abilities.

This series is full of surprises so far, with Flit still being obsessed with revenge after 26 years (unlike Shinn Asuka who got over it in the final episode) as well as Asemu having a happy ending (so far) when everyone was expecting him to die, get into a coma, or become brain dead (a la Kamille Bidan).

Finally, if you think you can write something better, please feel free to send the drafts to Bandai, Sunrise, and even Tomino.

    9. from this, i would have to declare that gundam AGE is fast becoming the most polarizing gundam series ever, hehehe!

but, seriously, i did have that "WTF, for kids?" moment when i first saw the character designs. but after seeing episode 14 (yup, THAT episode. no explanations needed) i have totally changed my mind. i now think that the designs are more than appropriate, creating a stark contrast to the darkness of the story.

      Delete
    10. i saw hope with these comments. i thought majority of "gundam fans" are so brain dead that they fail to see how awesome this series is. fakers please get off whatever series' nuts you're hugging. age brought a breath of fresh air to the gundam series with its plot. i pity those who don't watch it.

Seems you are indeed one of gundam fans that didn't have live did you ?
Everyone has its own interest and favorite gundam, it's OK, life is full with diversity, and it's amazing.
What's bad if someone like you that force its own opinion to others, without first trying to understand others.

If you prefer Gundam Age, fine. If you prefer Gundam Seed, it's fine. Even if you don't like Gundam, that's fine.
But don't generalize what's good for you is also good for other people.

      IN SHORT:
Sharing opinion is good, but try to respect others, don't say other that disagree with you bad, and don't force your opinion to other people.

Grow up please. Give more constructive comment.

    4. If i havent watched another Gundam series, how would i not know AGE 3 is the spiritual succesor to both ZZ gundam and V2 (both their transformations, core fighter, G fortress, high output cannon, shoulder wing shields, multiple pilots, etc)

Then i guess you really must not try to underestimate people just by reading their comments.

MSG 0079, 0080, 0083, 08th MS team, Zeta, a bit of ZZ, F91, Victory Gundam 1st season, G Gundam, Gundam Wing, After War X, a bit of Turn A, 1st season of SEED, a few episodes of Destiny, first half hour of Gundam Seed Destiny original TV movie ep4, 2/3rds of Gundam 00, er AGE season 1, first 3 episodes of AGE 2, and er now, 1st episode of AGE 3.

Postponing my gundam watching as of now, gunpla and work catching up with me.

    1. Hey, Danazine isnt as big as Shamblo, which pretty much rips off Val Varo anyway.

It's big, but not that big. Even the Defurse MA isnt as big as Shamblo. Otherwise the MG Gundam AGE 3 will not be released, judging from its battle with 2 Danazine's, its way smaller. Now imagine a Gundam the same size as ZZ. Then imagine an enemy the size of i dunno an EVA unit. That's the Danazine for you.

  16. Gundam Age is a good and fun series to Me!! it's like Turn A alot of people got put off from the First Preview pic and first few episodes and Gundam design but then after a few or more episodes you start to like the series more and more then you get hooked on to it same as Unicorn Alot of people hated the design Till they saw the Destroy mode then they SHut the F up so don't look a book at it's cover till you read it ALL!! though i did stuck with Destiny and the only thing I liked from it was some of the mobile Suit designs the rest kinda felt like i got raped with copy and paste and Does anyone think that there will be a Gundam Age Movie?

    1. You can't compare Age with Turn A, Turn A is waay better than Age.

Turn A Gundam is a masterpiece series. It has quite original story. I always like the setting and graphics on Turn A. Although some MS might look strange, it still had serious looks, unlike MS in Age which all share common childish looks.

Unicorn ? Unicorn is already fantastic from start, to be honest I never heard people hate it. You can't compare Unicorn with Age, Unicorn is million years better than Age.

      Delete
    2. Of course it's a masterpiece. Remember the first episode was like an OVA in itself.

The way he's comparing it to Turn A is because of similar scenes ie AGE 1 moon jumping in Fardain = Turn A Shaky Loran/Lora Rola piloting!

      Delete
    3. Plus i couldnt really treat Sochie's cutesey Kapool and Corin Nander's, Harry Ord's UNIIIIVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARSEEE as serious. That is why i loved it. It's so surreal, yet you could imagine all the technology in that dystopian steampunk world coming to life (well perhaps not so much the teleporting a beam rifle blast to a cockpit anyway!)Very much Tomino's last laugh at Sunrise.

If AGE's designs are childish, then Ebikawa san must have grown tired of drawing real good line arts of Exia then, which borrows from Turn A. Since Level 5 is pretty much behind this anime and its RPG games, the influence of Professor Layton, Inazuma Eleven and so on is definitely there, and those are mostly Shonen.

Zeydra totally borrows from Sinanju, what with its speed, beam tonfas, spiky armor, red colour scheme, Zeehato wearing a Char mask.

    4. @ Anon Apr 27, 2012 06:59 PM

Unicorn is according to your opinion, a "million miles better" than AGE.

Why wouldnt it be? because it's an OVA, with a movie production budget constricted to 1 hour at most each episode, with hours and hours of painstakingly expensive CGI, HD line art, the latest in digital cell technology, music by the great Hiruki Sawano, drool worthy designs by none other than Katoki Hajime, a retelling of UC events which supposedly ended in UC 0093 in Char's Counter Attack. UC being told to the next generation.

In contrast AGE has a limited budget, Level 5 directing and producing, Kanetake Ebikawa as lead designer. But they still pulled off an unexpectedly enjoyable Gundam series IMO. But look at the contrast between Zeta and CCA. Obviously the movie's gonna have the edge in design and effects over the TV series. Everything is so grandiose.

When the first manga of Unicorn rolled out, EVERYONE jeered and detested the fact that RX-0 in Unicorn Mode was a gundam. This thing is a gundam? yeah right. Then episode 1 OVA came out. Then the haters jumped the bandwagon of sucking Unicorn's horn ;S

Same thing happened with AGE. Calling the designs nothing more than child's play. Yeah until we see young innocent people getting murdered brutally through exploding cockpits and gunshots to the head. yeah its totally a show for kids.

Although the writing in Unicorn was based on the novel, therefore it had so much more backstory, depth and a talented pool of writers and directors to pull from.

AGE yeah i think after 00 and Unicorn, it was a bit of a Gundam shock. Then the story improved considerably as the story progressed into each genertion. It's over the top, but what Gundam hasnt been? (Unicorn in Destroy mode can use a Newtype's weapons against itself, Zeta Gundam's Biosensor aka God mode, Char's Zaku II custom, which goes 3 times faster just because it's coloured red, Victory 2 Gundam's Wings of Light, Wing Gundam's seemingly indestructible Gundams, G Gundam's wackiness, etc

    5. Well, then. I'm pretty sure that your a troll due to the lack of grammar, but I must say that AGE's designs are quite unique, in my opinion. Especially the Vagan mobile suits. The Federation suits are a new spin on some classics. Also, I just don't like the designs in Seed. They seem to be... generic.

      Delete
    6. Wall of text. Just ignore..

      Delete
    7. I agree. Sure the mobile suit designs are nothing but a massive homage/ripoff to RX78-2, Zeta and ZZ, but this is exactly what they intended from the start. However the story pulls every reference from the Gundam Universe (eg V, X, Seed, Turn A, Unicorn etc) so that kids ala the new age generation of potential gundam fans depending on their experience with AGE, will go back to see what those 3 series are all about.

At first i REALLY hated AGE 1's normal boring generic design, but it has grown on me. Sure it's not as groundbreaking as Ebikawa or Yanase's designs of Exia, Dynames, Kyrios and Virtue (2 of my favourite designers, the latter worked on MGS4 as well) But Sunrise and Level 5 had a strict requirement, and it is usually the board of directors that have the final say which mobile suit designs make it to the show.

I've so far gotten HG Titus, Zedas and G-Bouncer. Really really saving my money in anticipation for MG Spallow, AGE 2 & Double Bullet, Zeydra?? and the designers for these are mosly the same fom 00. They couldnt exactly make Exia and 00 raiser all over again - although AGE 3's head looks like a very familiar innovator suit XD

@ Lechku i thought exactly the same back then when i put off watching SEED, because as a kid who grew up on Wing, i thought the designs and the plot was boring. the reason why those designs look very generic and similar to old Federation MSG designs, is because they're done by none other than Kunio Okawara, who designed RX-78 2, the first ever Gundam.

      Delete
    8. I even see Raphael Gundam with the first sight on the AGE-3 Orbital form.

      Delete
    9. Kunio Okawara designed the TV Gundam Wing Gundams too.

      Delete
    10. Really? Woh. Now i see why Wing Zero and Saviour gundam look so similar (the shield and the flight mode gaddamit!) and why most suits in SEED went Wing and backpack happy

Did he design Destiny too? Ive always wondered. It looks like it was designed for After Colony XD

Still curious though, what's the real function of backpack spoiler on Age-1. If it's really important, why it's no longer available on Age-3.

My guess is they just run out of ideas, hehe.. :D

    2. It's not a car spoiler, it's a radar dish the collects information for the AGE system to analyze
