Namco Bandai, DeNA to Set Up Joint Social Game Venture

The Japanese conglomerate Namco Bandai Holdings (NBH) and the mobile social game company DeNA announced on Monday that NBH's Namco Bandai Games and DeNA will establish a joint venture for social games worldwide on October 1. The joint venture, BDNA, will be initially funded with 100 million yen (75% by Namco Bandai Games, 25% by DeNA).
Shin Unozawa, Executive Vice President & Representative Director of Namco Bandai Games, will head BDNA. The board of directors will have Hirotaka Reizei (Division Manager of Namco Bandai Games' Production Division), Hideyuki Okabayashi (Assistant Manager of Namco Bandai Games' Production Department 4), Isao Moriyasu (DeNA's President and Representative Director), and Keigo Watanabe (DeNA's Manager, Business Development Department, Social Game Head Office).
DeNA operates the Mobage social game platform for mobile phones. Since July of 2010, Namco Bandai Game has released such Mobage games as Gundam Royale, which has 3 million players, and Digimon Seikatsu.
