Currently the front runner of the poll is for a Crossbone Gundam series, followed by Hathaway's Flash. Which UC series would you like to see animated next?
Crossbone would be cool or a new UC. I'd like to see a 0079 side story line the side story missing link. Or it would be cool to have a story from the zeon point of view. Maybe a story about the zeon remnants from unicorn set b4 the events if unicorn. Or the return of Johnny Ridden would be a good story.

Gundam UC has some foreshadowing of Hathaway's, especially on how certain characters told Bright about fatherhood and sacrificing the few to save the many.

It'll make a fantastic series since it is about a crisis (not a total overview of war) involving the rebellion and there's a lot of good looking units (S Gundam, FAZZ, MK-V) and a new element in ALICE. Storyline is linear but the actions of the major players and the non-godly elements of both sides as the odds keep switching favours.

DeleteWhatever they do next they have to do in detail. They left a lot of holes in the timeline after Zz and gave us half assed stuff like the Char's Counterattack and even more confusing things like the akward setting the Ova version of Gundam Unicorn has. They like taking chunks out of valuable source material such as the detailed info from the Novels and building Zeta Gundam esque character development on it.

ReplyDeleteHaving read Crossbone, I feel confident in saying that I think that Crossbone, as a whole, is highly overrated.
ReplyDeleteAll of the Mobile Suits short of the Crossbones themselves are ugly as shit, and the characters, story, themes, and of course the mecha and ship designs all feel like they belong in an AU than UC. Not to mention that the major threat that the story was trying to build up was already known to have been subverted, considering that Victory was released before Crossbone, but takes place afterward. Crossbone's not really bad, but there's so many other stories out there that are anime-worthy.
I went with Hathaway's Flash, because I only know the most bits and pieces, particularly the most major story spoilers, and not a whole lot in-between them. I'll go with something I mostly don't know vs something I know, but don't care strongly for.

DeleteMaybe, but it'd still be new to me. I know Crossbone, and I know I don't care much for it. With HF, I only really know how it ends, but almost nothing before it, so I haven't had the ability to make the decision as to whether or not I like it. That's why I want to see it, so I can make that decision.

ReplyDeleteLet's say Sunrise does push through with a Crossbone Gundam anime (TV series, OVA, or movie), wouldn't it be better to go with a proper TV series Gundam F91 first? Since the original plans for the movie was a 39-episode series, it makes more sense that this one goes first.
ReplyDeleteSunrise was able to turn Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn into a proper TV series (and a surprisingly good one), so I don't see any issue with doing this to F91 as well. :)
