  3. Hopefully the blue stripe on the rifle is in plastic and not a sticker.

    1. bandai doesn't have a problem doing a blue plastic on the RG's riffle, let's hope this one have a blue plastic too

    2. You have a good point on that. Hopefully it is plastic.

    3. Looks like it is plastic. I see a nubmark.

    1. its just the orientation of how the image has been captured in the camera and the magazine is bent. ~Capt. Obv

  6. Damn....it looks better than the metal build version

  7. Overall i like this version, proportion looks good, color separation and details are good too, except for several minor parts like the spiky-spiky things on the wing cannon. I mean, come on bandai, freedom looks good without that extra spike on the wings so why should now? Also that extra splitting gimmick on the wing cannon looks unnecessary to me. Bandai risks butchering one of their (arguably) most famous mobile suit design for some unnecessary extra gimmick

    1. My guess is open/splitting gimmick on freedom 2.0 plasma cannon for release heat from the cannon after firing it, like tail feature on geno saurer/breaker when firing it plasma cannon.

      Delete
    2. Same anon here. Well that would've make sense when you think about it, though there's still the extra spike on the plasma cannon itself, which I still think as an unnecessary addition. Not that it'd bother me to buy it anyway, since I never built the MG version of freedom lol

    3. Just for rule fo cool maybe, in other word: decoration. Anyway this is fine redesign nevertheless imo.

    4. Most possible reason though, as of freedom is not cool enough lol. I'm with you on that one, this is probably the best version of freedom so far

    5. It's called 2.0 because we want to see something that is not in the anime. All 2.0's are like that; it's expected. We don't want to see this as an exact copy of the first master grade counterpart, do we? Knowing Bandai, you may always have the option to revert the Balaena plasma cannons to its regular form so calm your tits.

    6. After seeing this rendition of the Freedom, I'd say that the designer already went too far.

Not that I'm saying it doesn't look good - it does - but it doesn't anymore match the general aesthetic of SEED suits. It's now more like the Metal Build series.

    7. Split wing? Nice point. I would like to see that see as well. I hope they fixed the ratchet system of the wings and the tiny pegs connecting the blue parts to blue parts also on the wings. Lordy. This looks sleek and I smell a Strike Freedom, Destiny, MAYBE(probably not Infinite Justice). Hopefully they take cues from the Metal Builds.

    8. On the subject of unnecessary modifications... Bent antennas? This is a minus for me

    9. @MavTampx
But MG RX-78 ver. 2.0 are exactly anime accurate....

      @anon february 6
Looks like they fix it on updated image.

    10. The bent v-fin and staggered look on the shield are both a small minus to me. Not a huge fan of the splitting cannons either but it's optionsl so thats nice. I'm also not a huge fan of the proportions either. I'm not saying this isnt a good kit, but I've been waiting for this to come out for a while, and think I'm gonna buy the 1.0 instead.

    12. The bent v-fin and "staggered" look on the shield are both a small minus for me. I dont think it's a bad looking gundam kit at all, but I'm definitely not a huge fan of the proportions on this one. I've been meaning to buy this as I want a freedom in my collection but I think I'll just go for the original one.

  8. That rifle looks so badaas.

  9. hope the black part on the wing can be also split as same as rg freedom's wing.

    1. Unlikely from what I'm seeing. The blue section of the wings runs the length of the wing just like the MG and unlike in the RG.

      Delete
    2. Nope. RG and MG are two worlds apart. MG is more faithful in the anime aspect and the RG hits somewhat a borderline of real life and PG when it comes to proportions. The RG wing gundams came close as similar and the 3.0 rx 78 2 was bascally an upscaled RG, and that's only where their similarities end.

  10. freedom is my favorite gundam.... this version is very good in terms of design imo, cant wait to have this one!!!

  12. Well, the design gre on me. If that spiky protruding piece of shit doesn't serve as an union for the cannon then I'm gonna use them for scratch-building. Also, the bottom gray part reminds me a lot to the 57mm Strike's Beam Rifle

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm feeling a PG freedom!!! PLEASE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. This version of Freedom is definitely the best one yet but it's hard to get used to those flat and small feet.

    ReplyDelete
  15. i dont like the face its looks a bit derpy for me but who knows it might grow on me

now lets see if this is gonna beat the real grade

    ReplyDelete
  16. The Beam Rifle looks very Armored Core for Answer. I like it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. mg justice should be next

    ReplyDelete
  18. The kit looks great othern than the spikes on the wing cannons. Those look terrible and out of place.

    ReplyDelete
  19. No sliding knee cap? Why bandai???

    ReplyDelete
  20. No sliding knee cap?.. Why bandai???

    ReplyDelete
  21. anyone notice the v fin is a bit odd?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Is the v-fin supposed to be bent like that??

    ReplyDelete
  23. The next kit should be MG Justice to go well with this MG Freedom 2.0.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anyone notice the bent v fin?

    ReplyDelete
  25. So does the barrel of the wing cannon extend to show the angled thing at the end?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Those Badeena Plasma Cannons are gonna need lots of painting for the "cooling" gimmick

    ReplyDelete
  27. Soooo am I going crazy or is the v-fin a bit curvy in the final production shots? That looks so weird to me

    ReplyDelete
  28. Is it just me that the V-fin (the white one) is longer in this version?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Just comes with action base and I'm sold

    ReplyDelete
  30. is it me or is the lower v-fin crooked?

    ReplyDelete
  31. What the hell is up with that ugly CROOKED V-FIN?!? (NO IT IS NOT A PROTOTYPE IMAGE, IT'S THE ACTUAL V-FIN THAT WILL COME WITH THE 2.0 RELEASE)

    ReplyDelete
  32. What the... those "V-fin".. i don't like it. But nice freedom ver.2.0

    ReplyDelete
  33. What they don't include mg freedom's action base, instead of that standard ugly action base. This is a down to me

    1. Please keep your garbage delusions to yourself. Nobody likes you here. The only ones that do, are the ones that don't know who you are.

    2. Do you really always have to include the serial code/unit, or whatever, of the gundam every time you spam your wishlist??

  35. That wing wtf small piece of white like spike. Too much exaggerate especially hole at the face mask. I believe the head part couldn't bow any lower. Also that cheap hand, why not with manipulable 5 fingers like katoki's Nu Gundam? Come on BANDAI, this is sucks! Think of your customers or else your profit margin gonna get down.

    ReplyDelete

    1. It's not bandai utilize nu ka's manipulator on every new mg they produce after hi-nu ka. Even mg V2 still use swapping manipulator although it branded as ver. Ka.

Basically from that image we can tell a few things:

    1. Proportions have been improved.
    2. Moveable armor panels on the arms, legs, waist, and toes
    3. Gimmicks for the Full Burst variant of the M100 "Balaena" Plasma Beam Cannons
    4. Gimmicks for the opening thrusters on the back of the legs
    5. A stand is included
    6. You can recreated the double beam saber

Looks like this is going to be an amazing MG.
I'm going to preorder this ASAP.

  37. Wait, are the V-fins swoopy. I swear the white ones look like they have a curve.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I don't like the V-fin,.. but this version is cool & nice!

    ReplyDelete
  39. when it will release?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Still weirded out with beam cannons, but I do dig the new beam rifle though. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. The eyes looks like it can house a led unit ...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Now in new image v-fins are straight, not bend. Maybe there's really error in 1st sample pict?

    ReplyDelete
  43. I wonder if the blue part on the beam rifle will be a sticker again?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That is something that I hope gets fixed.

      Delete
  44. Is it just me, or does the blue part on the wings seems to swing open?

    ReplyDelete
  45. You all most likely realized this by now but the V fin will not be bent like in the earlier pictures. I'm not sure what even happened back then. Accident, perhaps. Bandai wouldn't sell us something with such a glaring problem. Man, Freedom will pop with RG coloring cues.

    ReplyDelete
  46. How is it that this actually looks better than the RG?

    ReplyDelete
  47. coolest mg gundam ever, no sliding knee, no thigh split, just the way i want it
