Hm. Your MG prediction might make sense. But then again, I suspect that X Maoh and Crossbone Maoh (for that matter) will be P-Bandai releases based off of the MG X and MG Crossbone Ver. Ka (obviously). And oh god... Really? MG G-Self? Have you seen how generally poorly received the HGs have been for most kits from the G-Reco line? I really don't think that Bandai would want to risk putting something like that into MG territory.

I like the G-Self's design but to be honest I'm more of a fan of the G-Arcane and Gaeon and those would be interesting MG releases if it ever came to that or the Grimoire.

DeleteBecause they almost never do back to back release from the same series, apart from the ones early on in the RG development line. Bandai only produce one RG every three months or so, if they do back to back release (for example, releasing RG 00 immediately after Exia), people who dislike the series or not a fan of the designs will be missed out for half a year, RG releases isn't as often as Monthly release like MG or HG, Bandai wouldn't risk losing the steam by putting all the eggs in one basket, it's just simple marketing strategies. Which is why Strike Freedom didn't come right after Destiny and Justice didn't come right after Freedom. Realistically I would put Qan[T] in the slot this time next year, and probably return to UC suits like Nu or Ground gundam for the next RG release.

ReplyDeleteHGBF already released the hi nu variation earlier so it's highly unlikely, for nu gundam (already released for MG ver ka) it's also unfavorable since there is other option from lead gundam series like the god/shining gundam, ground gundam and zz gundam for RG release. just my 2 cents

An update to the ZZ model would be fantastic. The Sentinel MG FAZZ is still one of my favourite kits--appearance wise--but the the design leaves something to be desired. It's a complex suit, without a doubt, but MG technology has come so far since the late 90s, I'm certain they could make something special with a Ver 2.0.

If Bandai keeps up with the whole BuilderFighter crap, I'm afraid they might make more losses than usual because the BuilderFighter merchandise are plain childish, shallow and don't appeal much to more mature audiences, who of course has more buying power than children.
Another thing is, fans from both BuilderFighter and G no Reconguista pay more attentions to eye candy characters and fanservices rather than showing interests at the mechs. And if this trend keeps up, sooner or later Bandai may have to shut down the Gundam franchise and venture into idol anime shows like Love live and Pripara by making dolls.
Sorry you're wrong. Some people like reconguista's ms design, included me. And i don't pay attention on eye candy character and fanservice (is there a fanservice on reconguista in the first place), but more on story progress and character interaction.

Bandai can't completely dependent on older fans because they'll grow older and some will tired with their hobbies. And without new fans as successor of this franchise, that's time when the francise died.
Frankly speaking, the MS designs from G no Reconguista are pretty odd and not inspiring for my taste. So I won't be interested in any of the HG gunplas from this title because I always go for more articulated and realistic designs like 08 MS team or Endless Waltz: Glory of Losers.
DeleteThe story plots in G no Reconguista are very murky, weak and can easily get entangled along the way. The characters are literally hyperactive spoil brats, who are so overeager to kill people and wage wars whenever they get their hands on any mobile weapons. These war wackies only come to their senses when their toys were broken.
And when it comes to fanservices, Builder Fighter series are full of it.
I am really not pleased with the current Gundam titles, especially titles like SEED, 00, AGE and BuilderFighter that are very poorly written and full of flawed designs. It also show that Gundam's standards are going down hill and still failed to achieve new heights. Not even Tomino's come back with his latest work-G no Reconguista can keep the Gundam franchise relevant in today's market.
The Gundam franchise is in stagnation, it is not progressing any further and will probably die a slowing death soon.
