guess it is easier to make the symmetrical rinascita vs the asymmetrical fenice. Still, it's a Fellini suit so yey!
ReplyDeleteSymmetry has nothing to do with it. For example, we got an MG for 00 Qan[T] and that guy isn't symmetrical.
DeleteIt's about the money. They could easily adapt the mold and parts from MG Wing Proto Zero into the Fenice Rinascita, and then make the Wing Fenice a PBandai.
the asymmetrical fenice is interesting but it gives an incomplete feeling, in my opinion rinacita is sexier than fenice
DeleteMG Wing TV has been around for five years. All it needs is a few extra parts and a new paint job, then boom! Fenice! It actually doesn't look at all difficult to make compared to some of the other customs. I think the only trouble would be figuring out how to make the shoulders and beam mantle. The biggest issue though would be the Meteor Hopper, since, aside from the shield, it would have to be made completely from scratch, and still be stable after assembly. Even more bonus points if it'd still be stable with an asymmetrical 1/100 kit straddling it.

The regular Fenice may or may not get released. If it will, it's more likely a regular release. In fact, I think I know what they'll release as a p-bandai exclusive in case if the Fenice gets a regular release:

Deleteidk, based on the images it just look like a detailed up HG to me . If you ignore the buster rifle (which looks good, the highlight of this kit for me), all they did is adding a lot of panel lines and some extra thrusters on the legs. The inner frame maybe fun to build but probably won't contribute much to the look of the final product.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the kit still looks too short and wide as a whole. The red waist part should be longer to give it a more "MG" like proportion, also the lower legs are way too fat even without the additional greed armor plates on the outside.
However I am eager to find out about how Bandai manage the head sculpt as it is easily the worst aspect of the HG Rinascita.
Oh well mg rinascita is coming! Hum i dont know, i have feeling about the hand holding the buster rifle, because it will be a weight issue in the wrist/ hand, in normal mg wing gundam, there was claw to support buster rifle, so it will be click and the weight issue will be done with help by the claw, but now n eee nah i dont know. Okay and then weight issue in this kit, because a big wing now in the back, hope this kit can stand. And then the shield, well it is huge, but the shoulder will be pop out by the shield, and it can open and mounted beam daber wich is nice, and beam cloak with has movement. Well it is great, but Bandai where is another mg kits for build fighter/ try series? Nah hope it will be release soon, now what is your opinion about this kit guys?

ReplyDeleteThe only way Bandai would do MG F91 2.0 is if they were gonna do the regular ver. as the regular non-P-Bandai release, and then do a P-Bandai release for the Harrison Martin Custom and "Imagine" (from Build Fighters). And I "imagine" (hur hur...LOL...see what I did there) that would piss off fans but end up in a sale.

Why the hell do people want MG of build fighters series? They're just stupid customs that you can build yourself. Some people claim they want an anime accurate representation of them. Then it would be HG cuz non of them use MG. Stop making MG for this Bandai there are plenty of good designs that deserve MG quality treatment.
ReplyDeleteWhy? It's because some people prefer MG over HG. Sure there's plenty of suits that "deserve" an MG release or a 2.0/RM/etc release, but Bandai is doing what's most profitable. And considering that Build Fighters and Build Fighters Try has been very popular (well especially compared to G-Reco) in GunPla sales... You honestly can't be surprised/mad that Bandai is making MGs.
DeleteIt's all about the Benjamin's...Well I guess in Japan's case, it'd be all about the Yukichi Fukuzawa's (the guy on the ¥10,000 bill...which as I'm typing this is valued at $83.81 (US Dollar).
I am disturbed at how loosely people use the word "deserve"when it comes to making Master Grades, Perfect Grades or any other Gunpla line. There's no such thing as a "deserving"design in Gundam: if Bandai sees an opportunity in making a kit, it will grab it, but first, said design must fall in line. They don't really have a lot of "marketing logic" outside of a kit being used in connection with a show, whether on air, or just finished its run. Look at the upcoming releases, no real logic in it. The Hyaku Shiki ver 2.0 was unexpected too, and most other releases have been P-Bandai. The two Gundam X units were good surprises too, after almost two decades of nothing in MG. What about Astray Blue Frame D? Bandai sure loves making Astrays, they have made an MG of most of its variants except for the one that was actually in SEED.
DeleteBandai is in a business of selling kits. They don't care if some anon thinks some designs are just stupid customs. It's bad business for them to force each and every one of their market audience in making customs, because not all people buy kits to customize them. Bandai isn't Tamiya or Dragon, whose market are mostly advanced builders. They get most of their money from kids.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, however, I think they should've made it closer to the HG variant. For example, they should've kept the shield handheld and not arm-mounted, and I find the barrel of the buster rifle very long. But it's just me doing the complaining, though.
